Menlo College is located on the San Francisco peninsula in the town of Atherton, a well-appointed residential community near the cities of Menlo Park and Palo Alto. The area ranks among the most attractive and dynamic in the world, with numerous cultural resources, temperate climate and all that the San Francisco metropolitan area can offer.
Returning as director is Menlo College’s Head Coach, Mark Kaanapu or “Coach K” as his players call him. In his seven years as head coach of the Oaks, Kaanapu has coached three All-American and four All-West Region players. In addition, 2001 graduate Nate Jackson was the first Menlo player to be selected in the NFL Draft and has been playing for the Denver Broncos for the past 2 years. This past year, the Menlo Oaks football team joined the Northwest Conference and had nine players awarded All-Conference honors.
Joining Mark on staff are NFL greats and Menlo coaches Cris Dishman and Eric Wright.
Cris spent 13 years in the league, playing for the Houston Oilers, Washington Redskins, Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings. In 1991, 1993 and 1997 he was selected to the Pro Bowl and was named to the All-Madden Team in 1997. Dishman played at Purdue University and was named All Big Ten in 1987 and also ran Track (200 & 400 meter dash) for the Boilermakers.
Eric was a second round draft pick in 1981 by the San Francisco 49ers, with a playing career lasting 11 seasons all with the 49ers. He earned Super Bowl rings 1981, 1984, 1988, and 1989. In 1984 and 1985 Wright was a Pro Bowl selection. In 1988 he was the recipient of the Ed Block Courage Award, which is given to the player that exemplifies a commitment to sportsmanship and courage.

Quarterbacks – Personalized attention and instruction by our quarterback coaches. The focus of the instruction includes the following: leadership, passing techniques, drop-backs, quickness, footwork, speed and agility, ball handling, hand-offs, pitches and options, passing techniques, sprint-outs, bootlegs, ro
llouts and play-action, passing drills, grip, QB/center exchange, pivots, sprint-draw and play-action pass, progression for finding the open receiver, mental and physical preparation for playing QB, warm-up drills, reading coverages, secondary pressure, and audibles.
Wide Receivers - Personalized attention and instruction by our receiver coaches. The focus of the instruction includes the following: reading coverages, correct pass routes, working back to the ball, catching the ball at the highest point, catching the ball, following the ball to the hands, speed control, how to get open, spotting defensive coverages (man-to-man, zone and combinations), running drills, receiver drills, stance, release, patterns: out, post, hook, curl, post/corner, fade, in, fly, cross, etc.
