2008 marks the fourth Nike Swim Camp at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College. Instruction takes place each day in the Matt M. Axelrood Pool, a 25 yard x 14 lane facility.

Directing the camp is Head Coach Charlie Griffiths, currently in his 7th year at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Over the past seven years, Coach Griffiths has made his mark upon the CMC swimming program with 36 SCIAC individual titles, 23 SCIAC records broken, 20 SCIAC meet records set, 21 SCIAC relay titles, 18 SCIAC Athlete-of-the-Week Awards, 3 SCIAC Swimmer-of-the-Year Awards, 3 SCIAC team titles and a 46-6 SCIAC dual meet record. NCAA results include 9 swimmers earning 16 All-American citations, 2 NCAA Top 15 team finishes and 2 NCAA individual titles. Overall results include a 52-14 dual meet record, varsity records set 40 times in 19 events and a 2002 ASCA Award for Excellence.

Coach Griffiths came to CMS from Denison University, where he served as assistant coach. During his three-year tenure, the school claimed its first NCAA Division III team title (2001 women), and snagged four additional runner-up trophies between the men's and women's teams. He worked with swimmers who produced 81 All-American performances, 21 national championship swims, 10 NCAA meet records, and 3 NCAA Swimmer-of-the-Year awards.
