The University of Pittsburgh is located in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains at the headwaters of the Ohio River. Pittsburgh is now considered one of the most beautiful cities in the US, according to USA Today.
The University of Pittsburgh has one of the largest and most beautiful indoor aquatic facilities, Joseph Clifton Trees Pool. It boasts two pools: the first is a 50 meter, 25 yard pool with 21 lanes and a full compliment of diving towers and one and three-meter boards, and the second is a 6-lane, 25 yard pool that is ideal for small group instruction.
Pittsburgh Panther Coaches Marian Clark and Aaron Workman join Head Coach Chuck Knoles in directing the NIKE Swim Camps.
Coach Knoles, in his 19th year at Pittsburgh, is a six-time Big East Conference Coach of the Year and is the head coach of both the men’s and women’s swimming programs at Pitt. Knoles’ swimmers have won everything from Olympic medals to NCAA Championships including more than 80 Big East Conference Individual and Relay Champion titles.
Senior Assistant Coach Marian Clark has been inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale for her success in Open Water Swimming. Coach Clark has also been named Big East and ECAC Coach of the Year and served as the head coach of the Panther women for eight years.
Second year assistant coach Aaron Workman came to Pitt after coaching at the University of Nevada Las Vegas for two seasons where he served as assistant swim coach and recruiting coordinator. Workman was in charge of all aspects of men's and women's recruiting, sprint/middle distance-group, running all meets and invitationals, managing the travel budget and has knowledge of NCAA rules and guidelines.
The Pittsburgh NIKE Swim Camps emphasize stroke technique, modern training techniques, competitive psychology, and athletic nutrition.
