Rutgers University can be found in the big, bustling college town of New Brunswick, spanning the Raritan River and the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park.  The campus is convenient for campers coming from New York City and the Jersey shore as well as local athletes.

 

All Skills campers, ages 10-18, playing at any ability level will master the fundamentals, develop proper mechanics and gain valuable game play experience.  Every aspect of the game is covered, giving you a solid skill foundation to build upon after camp.  Players undergo a skill evaluation during the first camp session and are placed in groups according to ability level.

 

High School instruction is recommended for girls ages 14-18 entering grades 9-12.   This intense, challenging program stresses position play, advanced team techniques and physical conditioning.  Campers will be expected to participate in a thorough skill evaluation on the first day and will be divided into groups by ability level

 

About the Director:  Jeff Werneke enters his second season as the Rutgers University head coach.  He was a Rutgers assistant coach from 1999-2001 before being named the head coach at Fairfield University.  While at Fairfield, Werneke led the Stags to a combined 111-85 record from 2002-2007, and was named the 2006 and 2007 Anaconda Sports Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. This past season the Stags finished 21-13 overall and 17-1 in the MAAC, and Werneke became Fairfield's all-time winningest coach.  In addition to his impressive coaching resume, Coach Werneke is an experienced NIKE Volleyball camp director and has been directing NIKE Volleyball camps at Fairfield University over the past six years.
