Join us this summer in Salem for the Nike Track & Field Camp at Willamette University. Located near Oregon’s Capitol , Willamette’s 80-acre campus provides the perfect setting for your summer training. Directed by Head Track and Field Coach Matt McGuirk, campers receive instruction in all events (except pole vault) and train each day at Charles Bowles Track. Experience twice daily workouts and classroom discussions covering topics such as nutrition, proper training methods, and motivation.

 

Competing in the NCAA Division III Northwest Conference, Willamette has a tradition of excellence. Throughout its history, the University has produced 19 men’s and ten women’s track and field conference championships, 58 All-Americans, ten NCAA Division III national champions, and nine NAIA national champions.

 

Willamette University is also home to 2006 graduate Nick Symmonds a USA Olympic 800M semifinalist at the 2008 Beijing Games.  

 

Join an impressive line-up of guest speakers, as well as an appearance of the NIKE van. Campers stay on campus in the dorms and eat in the dining hall known for its variety and quality of food.

· Willamette University head track and field coach, fifth season.
· 2007 NCAA Division III women's track and field coach of the year, West Region and NW Conference women's track and field coach of the year.

· 2004 NCAA Division III men's track and field coach of the year, West Region and NW Conference men's and women's track and field coach of the year.

· Coached 22 different athletes to 54 All-American performances throughout career at Willamette.

· 2004 thrid place finish and 2005 fourth place finish at Division III Outdoor Track & Field Men's Championships.

· Competed at the University of Oregon, reaching All-American status in 1984 in the steeplechase.

·  Ranked top 40 in the world in steeplechase ('92 & '93), placing seneth at the '92 Olympic Trials.
