Visit Virginia Tech this summer, located in the heart of the New River Valley and just 30 minutes southwest of Roanoke. Campers stay on the beautiful campus and train in Cassell Coliseum, the home of Hokie Volleyball.
Under the guidance of Head Coach Chris Riley and his exceptional staff, campers improve their skills and increase their confidence for their upcoming season. Coach Riley promises to be an exciting and energetic director.
Campers can choose to attend the Position Specialty camp for Setters, Hitters and Liberos. This two-day intensive program is structured to help athletes train at their preferred position, helping them learn proper form, technique and strategy.
All Skills instruction can be attended by girls, ages 10-18, playing at any skill level. Campers will master the fundamentals, develop proper mechanics and gain valuable game play experience.
High Potential instruction is recommended for girls ages 14-18 entering grades 9-12. This intense, challenging program stresses position play, advanced team techniques and physical conditioning. Campers will be expected to participate in a thorough skill evaluation on the first day and will be divided into groups by ability level.
About the Director: Chris Riley enters his third season Virginia Tech head coach. Prior to leading the Hokies, Coach Riley spent six seasons coaching at Towson University where he led the team to five straight 20-win seasons, three Colonial Athletic Association regular season championships, the 2004 CAA tournament championship and the 2004 NCAA tournament. He was named CAA Coach of the Year in 2003 and the America East Coach of the Year in 2001. Coach Riley has also coached at St. John’s and his alma mater, Jacksonville University.
