STETSON UNIVERSITY - Deland, FL

The NIKE Girls Basketball Camps welcome back Stetson University.  The 150-acre, Deland campus, lined with palm and oak trees, is conveniently located between two major Florida cities, Daytona Beach and Orlando. Temperate weather combined with superior facilities and instruction, make this a great five-day basketball camp experience.

Dee Romine, a 20-year coaching veteran and Head Coach at Stetson University, directs this NIKE Girls Basketball Camp.  Entering her 13th year at Stetson, Dee has established herself as one of the top coaches in the Atlantic Sun Conference.  Only one other coach in the league has a longer running tenure and more victories at her present school than Romine.   During the 2000-01 season, Coach Romine reached a significant career milestone.   With the Hatters' 74-60 win at Jacksonville State on Jan. 11, she became Stetson's first women's basketball coach to record 100 victories.  Dee's finest season at SU came in 2000-2001 when her squad not only ended its season 22-7, the best mark by a Hatter team since 1988-89, but its 12-4 record and second-place finish in the TAAC was the best in school history.

Romine also led the Hatters (17-14) to the 2005 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship title with an 88-62 win against Georgia State Saturday, March 5, in Dothan, Ala., and an automatic bid for their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.

Shooting Camp Session:

Coach Romine also directs a three day shooting camp program Stetson this summer.  This three-day shooting clinic will give campers the opportunity to focus on improving their shooting skills.  Three-day shooting clinic will concentrate on:

Technique, Footwork,  Shooting drills, Shooting off the dribble, Shooting off the pass, Shooting games, Free Throw Shooting, and Post/Perimeter Shooting.

Quotes from past Stetson Campers:

“USSC at Stetson University was a great experience. I have gone there for 4 years and I am still not tired of it. I would like to go back, because every year I come back and I’m ten times better.”
