US Sports Camps, Inc., in conjunction with the MB Sports Camp Team, is proud to offer the 2010 NIKE LACROSSE CAMP at Curry College!

Leading instruction for the girl's camp is Amanda Cahoon, the Head Coach at Cumberland High School. In her first season she guided her team to a State Championship Title with an impressive 17-1 record. Cahoon also serves as the girls head coach for the Team and Next Level Lacrosse programs. As a player at Elmira College, Amanda started as a freshman and was an Empire 8 All Conference Honorable Mention.

KRISTEN KJELLMAN OF THE US NATIONAL TEAM WILL BE JOINING THIS CAMP AS A GUEST INSTRUCTOR ON THURSDAY MORNING, JULY 1st. Kjellman led Northwestern University to 3 straight national championships from 2005-2007 and was the first lacrosse player (men or women) to be named the Tewaaraton Trophy winner in consecutive seasons. She graduated in 2007 and now lives and works in Chicago as a Sales Representative for Nike Lacrosse. 2010 will mark her 4th year as a US National Team member. The draw specialist made her first World Cup appearance in the 2009 World Championships in Prague. Team USA beat Australia 8-7 in an amazing championship gold medal game and Kjellman was named to the All-World team as a midfielder.

Campers receive 5 to 6 hours of daily lacrosse instruction covering:

1. Shooting
2. Dodging
3. Ground Balls
4. Fast Breaks
5. Feeding & Finishing
6. Cutting
7. Stick Skills
8. Clears
9. Face-Off
10. Wing Play
11. Offensive and Defensive Fundamentals

SUPERIOR SUPERVISION:
The Nike Lacrosse Camp at Curry has double the Supervision!  We hire two separate staff groups: coaching staff and counselor staff.  This ensures that coaches are not overworked and can adequately teach and coach lacrosse every day.  It also ensures that your children are being well supervised during all non-sport hours.  Also the owners/directors reside in the dorms with campers!

OVERNIGHT CAMP:
Over three quarters of our enrollment is comprised of overnight campers. All meals, lodging, formal lacrosse instruction and leisure time activities are provided for our campers. Overnighters stay 2 per room in student dorms located within walking distance to the fields. Roommates are guaranteed so long as both campers request each other.

DAY CAMP:
Offered to players who live within commuting distance to Curry College or will be staying off-campus. We recommend multi-week sessions but will also accept commuters as one-week campers. Day students will report Sunday, 2:00pm for an initial evaluation. Group lessons will be taught Monday through Thursday from 9:00am – 5:00pm. Day campers will be provided with lunch at our school dining room.

EXTRA ACTIVITIES:
Nike Lacrosse Camp at Curry is one of the only camps that offer nightly OFF-Campus Activities.  Our activities are pre-organized and include events such as:  MLS Soccer Games, Boston Red Sox Baseball Games, Laser Tag, Bowling, Hard Rock Café, Charlie Horse, Funway Café, 6 Flags (weekend), Water Country (weekend), Whale Watch (weekend), and much much more!

Activities are not mandatory, and campers either choose to attend a few activities during the week, all activities, or no activities.  Either way, for those campers who stay back:  There will be plenty to do such as our ping pong room, watching movies, board games, card games, volleyball, and more.  Counselors stay back to keep the appropriate ratios on the trip and back at the dorms!

OTHER SPORTS CAMPS AT CURRY:
At the same location, we offer a Nike Boy's Lacrosse Camp, Nike Tennis Camp, Nike Golf Camp, Nike Softball Camp and Nike Soccer Camp.  Many campers who play more than one sport are able to play 1 week of lacrosse and another week of another sport (without ever having to move locations… they can even stay in the same dorm room!)

When mixing sports, campers must participate in at least 1 full week of each sport.  Sports can not be mixed during the week. This is because each sports camp is an Intensified Training Program and should not be interrupted mid week.

CAMP OWNERS/DIRECTORS: Mehdi and Maria Belhassan.  Mehdi has owned the camps since 1995. As a former tennis professional, and a father himself, he knows the values and dedication it takes to give “the best sports instruction.”  Mehdi resides on campus throughout all camp sessions, and quickly gains the respect of all the campers.  Maria directs all office and customer service operations of the camp.  Maria is the background force, organizing summer events, registration packets, and the many other aspects to putting together a great summer production!  Maria is available via email, and during the year the 1-800 number rings to her cell phone.  Our policy is that every parent should be 100% comfortable by the time they drop off their child to our camp.
