**CONGRATULATIONS TO HEAD COACH JIM NESTOR AND HIS PLAYERS FOR WINNING THE 2010 DIII WOMEN'S NATIONAL LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIP! Read Full Story>>

Salisbury University, located on Maryland's beautiful eastern shore, 30 miles west of Ocean City and two hours from both Baltimore and Wilmington, Delaware, remains a Nike Lacrosse camp favorite for many. The school's great location, outstanding facilities and talented coaching staff make this camp a popular destination for young athletes to hone their lacrosse skills each summer.

Directing the camp is Jim Nestor, Salisbury’s Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach. Last season he led his team to its third consecutive final four and its second national championship appearance in the previous three years. It was another season for the record books as the Sea Gulls made a run at a number of program records. Salisbury’s 244 caused turnovers in 2009 were the most in program history, and the 385 goals and 577 points both ranked second in program history while the 192 assists the team had were fourth-best. Salisbury has now had 35 All-Americans since 1978 and 24 under Coach Nestor.

Nestor holds a remarkable .877 winning percentage (136-19) and has advanced to the NCAA tournament in each of the past seven years. His overall women’s lacrosse coaching record is 215-58-1 (.786) in 15 seasons.

As a by-product of the team’s success, Nestor has been named CAC Coach of the Year seven times (2003-09) and had 35 players named to the all-conference team, 24 players earn Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-American honors, and four players earn national position player of the years awards. In addition, Nestor was named IWLCA’s Chesapeake Region Coach of the Year in 2004, ’05, ’07 and ’08 and the IWLCA South Atlantic Region Coach of the Year in 2009. He was selected as the 2005 IWLCA Division III Coach of the Year.

Prior to Salisbury, Nestor was the Head Lacrosse Coach at Division II Gannon University in Erie, PA where he compiled a 73-20-1 record in six seasons with the women’s program. He guided the team to a winning season every year during the program’s six-year history. Gannon won three straight ECAC Championships from 1998-2000, and was named the co-national champion by the IWLCA following the 2000 season. Nestor was named the IWLCA’s Division II Coach of the Year in 1996 and was recognized as the NCAA Division II Coach of the Year in 2000 by College LacrosseUSA.com. Gannon had 21 players recognized as IWLCA All-Americans during Nestor’s tenure with the program. His coaching resume also includes stints at Frostburg (MD) State (1991-92), Colby-Sawyer (NH) (1992-94) and Lafayette (PA) (1994).
