Jim Catanzaro, an upstate New York native, begins his third season at the helm of the Lake Forest College lacrosse team. In only its second year in existence the Foresters’ recorded an 11-3 record in 2007, including two wins at the Great Lakes Lacrosse Conference tournament over Western Illinois University and Michigan Tech University. Under Catanzaro, the Foresters have grown from an infant program that won four games in its inaugural season to a threat to win the not only their division, but the entire Great Lakes Lacrosse League in 2008. In addition to their performance level, the Foresters have recruited players from across the United States to compete at the Midwestern school. Players hailing from such perennial lacrosse powers as Kent High School (Denver, Colorado), Chaminade Prep (St. Louis, MO), The Vermont Academy, and the Brentwood Academy (California) among others.

Coach Catanzaro will be assisted by former University of Rhode Island player, and current assistant coach at seven-time NCAA Division II National Champion Adelphi University, Josh Blumenthal. In addition to his coaching at Adelphi, Coach Blumenthal also serves as the Associate Head Coach and offensive coordinator of the U19 Bermuda National Team. He helped coach the team to a second place tie in the red division at the World Lacrosse Championships in British Columbia, Canada. Blumenthal is also the former head lacrosse coach at Palmer Trinity School in Miami, Florida where current Lake Forest College standout Mike Woll played his prep lacrosse. As a player, Blumenthal earned a Pioneer League Championship at the University of Rhode Island and made a USLIA National Championship appearance in 2001.
