Junior golfers of all ability levels are invited to join UCSD men’s golf coach, Mike Wydra, for a week of great golf instruction in one of th
e most beautiful places in the United States - La Jolla, California. Campers reside on campus at UCSD and travel a short distance to area golf courses each day for instruction and afternoon course play. In addition to having an incredible time, Coach Wydra and his staff are confident each and every golfer will show improvement during the course of the week.
Exciting evening activities are planned for each night and include a camp barbecue, pizza night, Boomer’s Family Fun Center, bowling night, movie night,and a San Diego Padres baseball game (not available every week).
Video analysis is provided and each camper takes home a personalized DVD and a Nike amenity package including a Nike hat, a dozen Nike golf balls, a camper workbook and much more!
CAMP DIRECTOR
Mike Wydra has one of the most accomplished golf resumes 
in all of San Diego County. Now in his 29th year of coaching at UCSD, Wydra’s program has produced over 30 professionals and 54 All-Americans.His playing and coaching background includes:

- Five wins on the Golden State Mini-Tour
- PGA Tour School Finalist (1980)
- 29 years as UCSD Head Men’s Coach

- Coached UCSD to 1993 NCAA National Championship
- Western States NCAA Coach of the Year 11 consecutive years
Torrey Pines. The name itself stirs the imagination of golf enthusiasts all over the world. Situated atop cliffs towering above the Pacific Ocean, golfers marvel at the views of the coastline and deep ravines. Named one of 'Americas 75 Best Public Courses' by Golf Digest, Torrey annually plays host to the PGA’s Buick Invitational and junior golf’s Junior World Championships. Torrey is also the site of the 2008 U.S. Open. Each week, campers head to Torrey Pines for an all day outing including morning practice at the Torrey Pines practice facility and 18 holes on the famed South course. ADDITIONAL COURSES
In addition to practicing and playing at Torrey Pines, the camp heads to several other fantastic San Diego area golf courses including Bonita Golf Club, Salt Creek Golf Club, Doubletree Golf Resort, Twin Oaks Golf Club, Eagle Crest Golf Club and Sail Ho Golf Club.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Campers live on campus at UCSD in six-room suites and enjoy all-you-can-eat dining in the cafeteria. Each six room suite has one single room for a staff member, five double rooms for campers, and a large bathroom. Campers enjoy access to a camp store, laundry facilities, ping pong table, and two video game units with 4-person gaming capability. UCSD is located less than one mile from the beach!
CAMP SPECIFICS
Check-in will take place on Sunday at Revelle College on the UCSD from 1-2:30 pm. Graudation will take place on Friday at Galathea College at 1 pm followed by check out from 1:30-2pm.
Campers arriving to San Diego International Aiport at to provide their own tranportation to and from the airport. For shuttle information visit

The Overnight fee includes all golf instruction, green fees, evening activities, housing and all meals. The Extended Day fee includes all of the above except housing and breakfast. Extended Day campers may participate in the evening activities.
