Williams College -
Williamstown,

The Nike Tennis Camp at Williams College, located in northwestern Massachusetts, an hour from Albany and three hours from New York City, has a long history of training young tennis players. Over 10,000 junior players have enjoyed the camp program for 35 years. Located on the north end of this picturesque campus, the Chaffee Tennis House complements six championship hard courts with stadium seating and 12 other tournament hard courts immediately adjacent, making this a perfect location for camp. In case of rain, campers will have access to 8 indoor courts.
Staff
Dave Johnson directs the Nike Tennis Camp. He is a top USPTA teaching professionals and on court with the campers every day. After 19 years as the Head Men's Tennis Coach at Williams, Dave has just recently retired. Up until recently Johnson served the College as the men's tennis coach, assistant Dean of the college and part-time lecturer in Art History. Stepping down as the head coach of men's tennis will afford Johnson the opportunity to teach both semesters in Art History now and devote more time to his work in the Dean's Office and the Nike Tennis Camp. For nine consecutive years Dave Johnson directed his Williams men's tennis team to at least an appearance in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament and won the NCAA Championship in 1999, 2001, and 2002. Dave was voted National Division III 'Coach of the Year' in 1998, and ITA East Region Coach of the Year for the third time in 2001. Together with his staff, Dave brings many years of solid experience, knowledge, and passion to this camp.

Program Information
Historically one of the most popular Nike Tennis Camps, each camp session averages 80 campers per session, ages 9-18 and all ability levels. Located in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains, campers enjoy a wonderful summer climate and fresh air. Dorms are not air-conditioned so campers are encouraged to bring a fan. The dorm, tennis courts, and dining hall are all walking distance from each other. During the evenings, campers will participate in activities including swimming, a barbeque, tie-dye party, scavenger hunt, capture the flag, ice cream fest, movies, and a trip to the Alpine Slide at the Jiminy Peak Ski Resort.
Two-Week Session: In addition to the five weeks of general overnight and extended day camp, the Nike Tennis Camp at Williams College offers one two-week session for campers who wish to maximize their tennis improvement and stay at camp longer! Campers in these sessions participate in a “Davis Cup” team competition during the second week.
