The NIKE Golf School @  Curry College is part of the MB NIKE Sports Camp family (tennis, soccer, lacrosse and softball). MB Sports Camps at Curry College offer the finest facilities, staff, program, and a superior instructional method that will bring your GOLF game to another level.  Coined by a camper as “the everything camp,” MBSC provides its own unique teaching method that effectively covers every aspect of the game, offers a variety of fun off-course activities, and attracts campers from all over the world.

CURRY COLLEGE - MILTON, MA

The Milton, Massachusetts campus is one of the most beautiful small college campuses in New England.  Located only seven miles outside of downtown Boston, its outstanding facilities include air conditioned dorms and nice dining facilities. 

Mehdi and Maria Belhassan will, as always, be directing the camp and will be in residence for every session. Many of last year’s favorite Nike Camp counselors will be returning in 2009 and we expect the return of many former Nike Campers as well as new campers of all ages. As in the past, there will be two separate sets of staff for 24-hour supervision, both on and off the course. 

GOLF COURSES
The Nike Golf Camp at Curry College takes its golfers to local area courses for course play.   Daily instruction will take place at Pine Oaks Country Club (http://www.pineoaks.com).  Other courses in the rotation will include Ridder Farm Golf Club, White Pines GC, Old Scotland Links and Riverbend CC.  We also take our campers to a state-of-the-art golf range facility. Unlimited golf balls for instruction, lecture rooms, golf movies, and other innovative golf teaching devices will be available to all campers.

OWNERS/DIRECTORS:
 As a former Tennis professional, Mehdi Belhassan is the owner of one of the most successful tennis camps in the nation (MB NIKE Tennis Camp). His love for sports however did not stop at tennis. After retiring from tennis competition, Mehdi Belhassan picked up golf and, as the golf saying goes, 'he has been bit by the golf bug.' Today he is an avid golfer with a single digit handicap. Golf has become one of his passions in life. With the help and consulting of several PGA pros, Mehdi Belhassan founded the NIKE Golf Camp at Curry College (formally at Stonehill College) which will run simultaneously with all other NIKE Sports Camps using the same format and teaching philosophy.   Mehdi resides on campus throughout all camp sessions and quickly gains the respect of all the campers.  Maria directs all office and customer service operations of the camp.  She is the background force, organizing summer events, registration packets, and the many other aspects of putting together a great summer production!  Maria is available via email, and during the year the 1-800 number rings to her cell phone.  Our policy is that every parent should be 100% comfortable by the time they drop off their child to our camp.

LEAD INSTRUCTOR: We are proud to have Patricia Gonzalez as our Golf Head Pro.  Patricia has been with MBSC since we started the golf program in 2006.  Originally from Armenia, Colombia, Patricia started playing golf at age 15. Played in the Colombian National Team from 1978 to 1985 and winner of the major amateur tournaments in Colombia . Played collegiate golf at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX and majored in business marketing. Won the 1982 AIAW All State Tournament as a freshman and also the 1985 SWC Championship Individual & Team as a senior.

Turned professional in 1986 and was Rookie of the Year in the European LPGA. Her career low round was 65. She is a member of the English and Colombian PGA since 1987. She has worked in England, USA and Colombia and has been with Jim McLean Golf School since 2002.

MORALS/ VALUES: Nike Golf Camp at Curry College is primarily concerned that each student be treated as a person of integrity and worth, and that values that he develops on a golf course be carried into his daily life. Sportsmanship, gamesmanship, tolerance for hard work, and enthusiasm for playing the game can be instilled in all students regardless of physical talents. Swearing, temper tantrums, and similar negative behavior will not be tolerated. All students can become champions - as sensitive, productive, distinctive individuals. Some will even become champions on the course. Our motto is ... enter the Nike Golf Camp at Curry College to become a good golfer and even finer lady and gentleman!!

Beginner to Tournament (Players 8-18)
Classes are programmed for three different proficiency levels: beginners, intermediates and advanced players of all ages. Each student will be tested weekly and placed in a groups of 5 with other campers of similar ability and age. Beginners will be playing golf in just a few days; intermediates will improve all aspects of their game; and advanced players will sharpen their game to a competitive edge.
Our intensified program for aspiring Tournament Players (8-18 years) is ideal for competitive players who presently play or wish to try out for their high school or pre-high school team.   Players must have at least 1-3 years of golf experience.  Players will be evaluated to see if they qualify.

SUPERIOR SUPVERVISION!
We have two separate sets of staff for double the supervision!  Coaches are not required to watch campers during non-sport hours and are, therefore, able to rest and give 100% effort everyday.  Their counselor staff have been hired to watch campers during all non-sport hours and field trips.

The Overnight fee includes all golf instruction, green fees, evening activities, housing and all meals.  The Extended Day fee includes all of the above except housing and breakfast.  Extended Day campers may participate in the evening activities.

                                                 

OTHER SPORTS CAMPS:
At the same location, there is a NIKE Tennis Camp, NIKE Softball Camp, NIKE Soccer Camp, and NIKE Lacrosse Camp.  All 5 sports camps are directed by the owners: Mehdi and Maria Belhassan.  Many campers who play more than one sport are able to play 1 week of Golf and another week of another sport (without ever having to move locations… they can even stay in the same dorm room!)
When mixing sports, campers must participate in at least 1 full week of each sport.  Sports can not be mixed during the week. This is because each sports camp is an Intensified Training Program and should not be interrupted mid week.
