SCHOOL DIRECTORS AND STAFF

Todd Satterfield has guided the Furman men’s golf program to national prominence during his tenure as head coach. Prior to coaching, Satterfield was a standout on the University of Georgia golf team and later a successful touring professional. His coaching and playing resume includes:

  • Three-time Southern Conference Coach of the Year (2004, 2002,1997)
  • 1997 Furman University Coach of the Year
  • 1993-1996 Assistant Men’s Coach at Georgia
  • 1991 PGA Tour Qualifier, 2nd stage medalist
  • 1989 West Virginia Open Champion
  • 1989 US Amateur Quarterfinalist
  •  Former All SEC golfer - University of Georgia

Jen Hanna took over the reins at Furman in 2005 from long-time Furman Coach, Mic Potter.  Hanna represented a perfect selection to replace Potter, given her standout four-year career as a Lady Palidin.  While at Furman, Hanna was named a National Golf Coaches Association 'First-Team All American' and elected to the Furman Athletic Hall of Fame.  In her senior season, Hanna was also named Furman Female Athlete of the Year.  Following her college career, Hanna found success at the highest level of female golf, the LPGA, where she has three top ten finishes to her credit.  During her short tenure as the women's coach at Furman, Hanna has already been named the SoCon coach of the year twice (2008, 2009) and the Furman female coach of the year (2008).

Along with an impressive playing and coaching resume, Coach Hanna has given back to the game of golf in an effort to make golf more accessible to young girls.  She is the current spokeswoman for the LPGA/USGA Girls Club and in that role has conducted more than 30 clinics for girls ages 7 to 17 at stops around the United States.  Her efforts led to her receiving the LPGA Budget Service Award in 2003.

Additional instructional staff for the Nike Golf School at Furman University is comprised of PGA members, LPGA members and college golf coaches.
