New camp for golfers who compete on a high school team scheduled for July 5 - 10 (Session III)

proudly presents the Nike Junior Golf Camp at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Williams is a prestigious, private, liberal arts college located in the Berkshires in northwestern, MA, 145 miles from Boston and 165 miles from New York City. The wonderful summer climate, fresh air, Berkshire Mountain beauty and a variety of outstanding golf courses makes Williams a true 'summer camp’ experience.
 
CAMP DIRECTOR - Session I - III 
Scott Moyer,
Director of Golf and men’s coach at McDaniel College, has led the Green Terror to six NCAA National Championship appearances with the most recent appearance in 2008 and has won several conference championships, including the 2005, 2006 and 2008 titles. An active member of the Golf Coaches Association of America, he also serves as the Director of the National Golf Coaches Academy. 
 
Assisting Scott during his camp session will be Kay McMahon and David Bond,  Kay is a Class A PGA professional as well as the past national president of the LPGA and nominee to the LPGA Hall of Fame in 2006 and 2008.  David, an accomplished player and Level III certified Golf Instructor by the U.S Golf Teachers Foundation, is a perfect compliment to the teaching staff.  He is the  owner of The Range in North Adams, MA and is the head men's golf coach at the Massachusettes College of Liberal Arts.

CAMP DIRECTOR - Sessions IV - VIII
Dr. Robert Winters
 is a Sports Psychologist and Performance Consultant for the David Leadbetter Golf Academy. He works with PGA, Senior PGA, LPGA and Nationwide Tour professionals. Dr. Winters is best known for his applied work in helping world-class athletes and collegiate teams attain peak performance. He is a former touring professional golfer and collegiate golf coach.  Coach Winters has directed the Nike  Golf Camp at Williams College since 1994 and has also directed camps for Nike Golf Schools & Jr. Camps in Florida and Virginia. THE BERKSHIRE COURSES

Skyline Country Club - 18 hole, par 72, very demanding and scenic course nestled in the Berkshires with views of Mt. Greylock. Host site for the PGA players ability test and hosted the Massachusetts Amateur Qualifier. Outstanding facilities for putting, chipping, bunker and full swing. Skyline is very Nike Camper friendly and has hosted the camp for several years (20 minutes from Williams College).

Waubeeka Golf Links - 18 hole, par 72, two putting greens, short game area, driving range, new watering system. Host site for MA State High School Championship, Plantation Junior Golf Tour, State Amateur Qualifier and Berkshire County Pro-Amateur Tournament (5 minutes from Williams College).

North Adams Country Club - Annually hosts the Berkshire County Pro-Junior Championship and North Adams Invitational. 9 hole, par 36, semi-private, Nike Camper friendly golf facility (10 minutes from Williams College).
Stamford Valley Golf Club
9 hole, par 36 course located in nearby Stamford, Vermont.  The short but challenging layout is perfectly suited for fine-tuning campers' short games. 


WEEKLY SCHEDULE - Session I - III 
 
Camp kicks off Sunday with an evaluation, dinner and 9 holes at Skyline Country Club.  Morning range instruction Monday-Thursday is held at The Range, Berkshire's newest and most beautiful outdoor recreation facility, in North Adams, MA.  After lunch each day, the camp heads to a different course in the area.  On Monday, campers get in 18 holes at North Adams Country Club, Stamford Country Club welcomes us on Tuesday, we play 9-18 at Skyline Counry Club on Wednesday, and spend Thursday playing a full round at Waubeeka Country Club.  Then on Friday, to cap off a fun and successful week at camp, all campers participate in a 9 hole tournament at North Adams Country Club (some minor course changes may occur).
 
High School Players Week
Session III, scheduled for July 5 - 10, is a special week designed for members of high school golf teams.  Coach Moyer and his staff will focus on tournament preparation, playing under pressure, and getting the most out of your game when it counts.  This week is limited to junior golfers who currently compete on a high school team.   
 
WEEKLY SCHEDULE - Sessions IV - VIII                                                           Campers registering for sessions 4-8 with Dr. Robert Winters practice and play at scenic Skyline Country Club on Sunday and Monday. Tuesday is an 18 hole shotgun start at North Adams Country Club. North Adams is a classic turn of the century design always enjoyed by the campers. Afternoon instruction is at Skyline Country Club. Wednesday is another full day at Skyline with Chef Bob’s Pasta and Meatballs for lunch. Thursday features an unforgettable all-day outing to Waubeeka Golf Links, just five minutes from Williams College. Campers return to Williams College for dinner and evening activities. Friday morning includes breakfast and a 9-hole tournament at North Adams Country Club or Skyline Country Club. (some minor course changes may occur).

7:00 Wake-Up

7:15-7:45 Breakfast at Dining Hall

8:00 Bus to various golf courses

8:30-11:30 Skills Training - three stations on putting & chipping, pitching & bunker, and full swing

11:30-12:00 Lunch at golf courses

12:00-5:00 Course play with staff

5:30 Bus to Williams College

6:00-6:30 Dinner at Williams Dining Hall

7:00-9:00 Evening Activities

10:00 Lights out

 

OTHER INFORMATION

Campers are housed in singles and doubles in non-air conditioned Williams College dorms (bring a fan). Most meals are served at the Williams College dining hall.

Check-in occurs on the first day from 2-3 p.m. Departure is around 1 p.m. on the last day.
