NIke Tennis Camps is excited to welcome back Malibu Summer Tennis Camp as a favorite camper location. This Nike Camp location located on the Pepperdine University campus presents a unique one of a kind camp experience unmatched by any camp in the country. Located in Malibu, CA this camp combines a majestic view of the Pacific Ocean, incredible weather conditions, an impressive tennis facility and some of the best coaching on the West Coast.
Campers will play at the nine-court fully lighted Ralphs-Strauss Tennis Center and live and dine on campus. Meals are served in the newly renovated Tyler Campus Center Cafeteria which has a stunning ocean view. This all-you-can-eat cafeteria includes a salad bar, soup and
cornbread bar, beverage station, dessert station, and hot entree stations.
The camp program begins at 8:15am each day and will consist of morning drills and instruction and afternoon match plan and fun games. In addition, to tennis instruction, a flighted tournament will be held each session with a trophy presentation. Campers are invited to cool off after tennis with

swimming in the afternoon. Evening activities will consist of a talent and game show night as well as a barbeque at Scenic Alumni park. A camp highlight is the chartered bus ride to Zuma Beach, where campers will be able to hang out and swim at one of LA's most famous beaches. (Kids will be completely supervised both in and out of the water and there is a life guard at the beach.) Day campers will depart at 5pm each day and Extended day campers leave each night at 9pm.
Camp directors are Adam Steinberg and Gualberto Escudero. Steinberg, now in his eighth year as head coach at Pepperdine has established himself as part of an elite group of coaches. His 2006 Waves won the NCAA national championship and in 7 years has amassed an overall record of 159-50 along with 7 WCC championships and 7 NCAA tournament appearances. In 2006 he was named the ITA's National Coach of the year and is a four-time WCC coach of the year.
Escudero begins his 33rd season at the head of Pepperdine's women's tennis program. Escudero has led Pepperdine to NCAA postseason play on 25 occasions, including each of the last 21 seasons. His women's team has dominated the West Coast Conference and have won 20 out of last 21 titles. Escudero has won numerous coaching accolades including three-time WCC coach of year and ITA district and regional coaching honors.
