Nike Golf Schools & Jr. Camps is proud to offer an overnight junior golf camp at one of the most historic and respected academic institutions in the country. The College of William & Mary, located in quaint Williamsburg, Virginia, is the second oldest college in the United States. Director of Golf, Jay Albaugh, and Assistant Men's and Women's Golf Coach, Peter Gyscek, look forward to helping junior golfers of all abilities realize their full potential by providing a fun-filled week of instruction and course play at nearby Colonial Golf Club.
JAY ALBAUGH
Jay is in his sixth season overseeing both the men's and women's golf
teams at William & Mary. He is used to wearing two hats as he previously served as the head coach for the men's and women's teams at Eastern Illinois University and brought about the creation of the women's team while also coaching the men's team during his tenure at Mount St. Mary's College. Jay is a member of the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Advisory Committee and currently serves as the CAA representative to the Golf Coaches Association of America Congress. As a player at Mount St. Mary's, he was twice named All-Northeast Conference and was a two time selection to the NEC Scholar-Athlete Team.
PETER GYSCEK
Peter is in his fourth season as assistant coach for the William & Mary men's and women's golf teams. He is a class "A" pga professional and owner of the Dynamic Golf Studio, a Williamsburg-area teaching center. In addition to owning his own golf business and coaching, Gyscek is an associate member of the National Golf Coaches Association and a master club-fitter and equipment specialist.
COLONIAL GOLF CLUB
Colonial Golf Club is a championship 18 hole golf course located ten miles west of Williamsburg. The traditional layout, measuring nearly 7,000 yards, winds through hardwood forests and tidal marshes with nary a condo or residence in sight. ACCOMMODATIONS
Campers are housed two per room in dorms on campus at the College of William & Mary. The staff lives in the dorms with the campers to ensure safety and supervision.
CAMP SPECIFICS
This camp is open to boys and girls of all abilities, ages 10 - 18. Registration occurs on Sunday, July 25th, between 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. and departure takes place on Thursday, July 29th, at approximately 1:30 p.m.
The overnight fee includes all golf activities, meals and lodging. The extended day camp includes everything above except breakfast and lodging.
In addition to daily instruction and course play, campers will enjoy fun downtime activities including supervised trips to history-rich Colonial Williamsburg located adjacent to the campus of William & Mary.
