We are excited to welcome back Blake Ahearn, to our Nike Basketball Camp family for our third summer of the Blake Ahearn Nike Basketball Camp at the Whitfield School. Coach Ahearn will once again direct a week of camp for boys and girls ages 8-16 that want to get better this summer. Camp will have a focus on offensive skills but will cover all aspects of the game. Blake Ahearn Nike Basketball Camp at the Whitfield School will run from June 2-6 and June 16-20, 2014.

The camp will focus on all aspects of being a complete basketball player: dribbling, shooting, passing, defending, rebounding, communicating and most importantly, hustling!

Blake Ahearn is one of the best pure shooters in the world. As a graduate of Missouri State and 3-time NCAA Free Throw shooting champion (finishing his college career at 94.6%), Blake has gone on to play in the NBA for the Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs and for Team USA in the 2011 Pan-Am Games.
Blake's passion for the game, intimate knowledge of the point guard position and exposure to the highest level of basketball on a global stage make him a tremendous resource for all kids who enjoy the game and want to get better this summer.

As a college basketball player at Missouri State from 2003-2007, Blake had a tremendous career. In becoming the school's all-time 3 point shooter, making 276 in his career, Blake made a name for himself as one of the nation's best shooters. He was selected to the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Freshman of the Year in 2004 and was a two-time all-MVC first teamer (2006 and 2007). Along the way, Blake captured the NCAA single season free throw percentage record with a mark of 97.5%, which included 2 seperate streaks of 60 consecutive free throws.
As a professional, Blake has experienced success on every level. Playing for the Miami Heat in the 2007-08 season, Blake scored a team high 15 points against the Detroit Pistons. In this same season, he was named the NBADL Rookie of the Year. The following season Blake played for the San Antonio Spurs and won the NBADL 3-point shooting contest. Internationally, Blake experienced tremendous success playing in the ACB for Estudiantes in Madrid, Spain.
Blake has spent the 2011-12 season between the NBADL with the Reno Bighorns and the NBA, going to training camp with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Complete Skills: This program is intended to help players develop athletically. The individual camp is a great opportunity for young basketball players looking to develop and refine their fundamental basketball skills. This program also includes a curriculum for intermediate/ advanced players looking to enhance their skill set at the post, wing, or guard position. Emphasis is placed on fundamental development, shooting, offensive moves, defense, rebounding, team play, and more.
Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.

A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact numbers, and a checklist of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the spring. The US Sports Camps health and release forms do not require a doctor's signature. Campers must bring their health and release forms with them to check-in on the first day of camp.
