In three years, the Fighting Scots were 71-14, won two North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, and advanced to the NCAA Championships twice, including a trip to the Sweet 16. In addition to numerous players earning all-conference awards, he helped coach two players who earned All-American honors, including one who would go on to be named the NCAA Division III National Player of the Year. In 2002, Pottkotter returned to coach at his alma mater, Denison University, as an assistant to Bob Ghiloni. Within three years, the Big Red had more than doubled their win total prior to his arrival. He helped lead them to one of their best seasons in over a decade, which included earning the right to host a conference tournament game. While at Denison, Pottkotter helped recruit and coach the school’s all-time leading scorer, in addition to numerous all-conference honorees. While at Denison, Pottkotter also served as the Head Men’s Golf Coach.
After Denison, Pottkotter moved on to another traditional Division III power, Otterbein University, in Westerville, OH. In three years, the Cardinals had doubled their win total and Pottkotter helped coach the OAC’s leading scorer and rebounder. While at Otterbein, Pottkotter worked for legendary coach Dick Reynolds.
In 2008, Coach Pottkotter began hosting and directing Nike Basketball Camps in central Ohio. Hundreds of boys and girls have come from all over the country to work on and improve their games in the summer. He continues to expand his Nike Basketball Camp offerings for both boys and girls throughout the state of Ohio.

Complete Skills: This program is intended to help players develop athletically. The individual camp is a great opportunity for young basketball players looking to develop and refine their fundamental basketball skills. This program also includes a curriculum for intermediate/ advanced players looking to enhance their skill set at the post, wing, or guard position. Emphasis is placed on fundamental development, shooting, offensive moves, defense, rebounding, team play, and more.
Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.
A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact numbers, and a checklist of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring. The US Sports Camps health and release forms do not require a doctor's signature and they will be collected on the first day of camp.
