US Sports Camps and Nike Basketball Camps are excited to offer a day camp in Westerville, Ohio. This is a complete skills camp offering fundamental and skill development for campers aged 8 to 15. Kyle Pottkotter of One Five Sports will lead a girls week from June 10-14 and boys week from June 17-21, 2013.

At our complete skills camp, players will get instruction on all areas of the game including: offensive moves, defensive technique, shooting, ball handling, team play, and more. Coach Pottkotter and his experienced coaching staff will lead campers through drills, skill stations, full court games, and give each player the proper instruction they need to improve their skills.

Players of all abilities are enouraged to attend this camp. Campers will be divided by age and ability on the first day to ensure that all players are placed in the proper group so they can get the most out of their camp experience. Whether you are looking to refine your existing techniques or go out for the team for the first time, Coach Pottkotter will help you get there.

The Westerville Community Center in Westerville, OH is located 15 miles north of Columbus and offers two regulation sized basketball courts.

Camp Director

Kyle Pottkotter

Long time Nike Sports Camps Director Kyle Pottkotter will once again host our Central Ohio Nike Basketball Camps.  Following 13 years of college coaching, Coach Pottkotter is now the founder and director of One Five Sports.

One First Sports focuses on basketball skill development and training for individuals, small group clinics, and teams.  The training programs include basic fundamental development for younger players through elite level training for high school and college athletes.  Throughout his career, Coach Pottkotter has worked with numerous college players who have earned all-conference, all-region, and all-American honors.  His camps have drawn athletes from all over the world, and he continues to expand his camp offerings within the Nike Basketball Camp family.

Coach Pottkotter earned his undergraduate degree in History from Denison University and received his Masters of Sport Science in Sport Coaching from the United States Sports Academy.  He began his coaching career at The College of Wooster, where the Fighting Scots won two conference championships and made two trips to the NCAA tournament.  From there, he returned to Denison University as a coach, where he recruited and coached the school's all-time leading scorer, along with helping lead the Big Red to one of its best seasons in recent years, including hosting a conference tournament game.  In addition to his basketball duties, Pottkotter also served as the Head Men's Golf Coach at Denison.  After Denison, Pottkotter spent four years at Otterbein University, where he coached the Ohio Athletic Conference's leading scorer and rebounder.

Jessica Jenkins

Jessica Jenkins returns to our camp staff for the girls session after a successful first season playing for Keflavik of the Iceland Basketball League.  Jenkins led Keflavik to the Dominos League Championship and was named the finals MVP.  For the season, she was awarded the League Guard of the Year, and was named to the 2013 Eurobasket.com All-Icelandic League First-Team as well as to the All-Imports Team. 

Jenkins signed with Keflavik after a stellar four-year career at St. Bonaventure, where she finished as the school's 7th all-time leading scorer.  In addition, her 338 career 3-pt. FGM are St. Bonaventure and Atlantic 10 records.

Complete Skills: This program is intended to help players develop athletically. The individual camp is a great opportunity for young basketball players looking to develop and refine their fundamental basketball skills. Emphasis is placed on fundamental development, shooting, offensive moves, defense, rebounding, team play, and more.

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.

Camp information
All campers must eat breakfast at home. Lunch is not included, please bring your own lunch. 
 
Registration Packet
A detailed camper registration packet containing check-in location, health/release forms, emergency contact numbers, and a checklist of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring. The US Sports Camps health and release forms do not require a doctor's signature and they will be collected on the first day of camp.Campers must bring their health and release forms with them to check-in on the first day of camp.
