US Sports Camps is excited to welcome once again Terri Bamford, one of the most prominent high school basketball coaches in the nation, as director of the Nike Basketball camp at La Jolla Country Day School. Just North of San Diego, LJCDS is one of Southern California's premier educational institutions and one of the original Nike Girls Basketball Camps. Complete Skills camp will run from June 16-20 and our Shooting camp will run from June 23-25, 2014.
The director of Nike Basketball Camps at La Jolla since 1997, Terri Bamford brings her coaching expertise and enthusiasm for basketball to camp for both June sessions. She has assembled a team of coaches and collegiate players to help guide campers throughout the Complete Skills and Shooting camps.
The Complete Skills camp offers a challenging daily format of fundamental instruction, clinics, drills, and team games. Players will have the opportunity to develop and refine their fundamental basketball skills. Emphasis is placed on fundamental development, shooting, offensive moves, defense, rebounding, and team play.
The Shooting Skills camp gives campers the opportunity to focus on improving their shooting skills. Emphasis is placed upon: Technique, Footwork, Shooting drills, Shooting off the dribble, Shooting off the pass, Shooting games, Free Throw Shooting, and Post/Perimeter Shooting.

A longtime Nike Camp director, Coach Terri Bamford has run basketball camp at La Jolla since 2007. One of the most prominent high school basketball coaches in the nation, Bamford is committed to teaching and helping young players of various skill levels to improving their game.Read Full Bio
Head women's basketball coach Terri Bamford has been teaching and coaching Country Day students since 1997. After serving as the Lady Torreys' assistant varsity basketball coach for two seasons, she was named the head women's basketball coach in 1999. Since then, Coach Bamford's squads have posted an impressive 324-75 record, won nine League titles, nine San Diego Section CIF titles (2001-2008, 2010), has made eight consecutive Southern Regional Championships, while winning four (2001-2004, and 2008), and made five State Final appearances (2001-2004, and 2008), winning State Titles in 2001 and 2002. Coach Bamford was named the CalHi Sports Coach of the Year in 2001, the Breibart Hall of Champions Coach of the Year in 2002, and San Diego Union-Tribune's Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2007.
Under Coach Bamford’s direction, twenty players have earned All-League and All-CIF honors including three San Diego Section Players of the Year (2003, 2008, and 2010), one McDonald's All- American, 2004 and seven McDonalds All-American nominees (2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, and 2010). Seventeen of Bamford’s players have gone on to play Division I basketball.
Coach Bamford is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine with a B.A. degree in Psychology. Coach Bamford played basketball for the Lady Anteaters of UC Irvine, and has directed and coached the NIKE Basketball Camps at Country Day since 2007.

Individual Camp: This five day program is intended to help players, ages 6-17, develop athletically. The individual camp at La Jolla is a great opportunity for young basketball players looking to develop and refine their fundamental basketball skills. This program also includes a curriculum for intermediate/advanced players looking to enhance their skill set at the post, wing, or guard position. Emphasis is placed on fundamental development, shooting, offensive moves, defense, rebounding, team play, and more.
Shooting Camp: This three-day shooting program gives campers the opportunity to focus on improving their shooting skills. Emphasis is placed upon: Technique, Footwork, Shooting drills, Shooting off the dribble, Shooting off the pass, Shooting games, Free Throw Shooting, and Post/Perimeter Shooting.

Camp Information and Notes:
- Camp hours are 9AM-3PM (Monday-Thursday) and Friday 9AM-12PM.
- Check-in : Monday, 8:30AM; all other days campers can arrive prior to 9AM.
- Check-out : Friday, 12:00PM with closing ceremony at 11:30AM.
- Lunch is not included.
- Shooting Camp Hours are 4PM-8PM each day.
