The inaugural NIKE Girls Basketball Camp at Vestavia Hills HS in Vestavia Hills, AL will run May 28-May 31, 2013 and will be directed by Michelle Manfredi, Vestavia Hills Head Varsity Boys Coach George Hatchett, and Homewood Head Varsity Girls Coach Jovanka Ward
This camp will focus on individual skill development with our morning skill stations and afternoon 3 on 3 Cut Throat League. Each camper will also play in one 5 on 5 game and participate in our Living by Numbers contests each day. This summer camp is a perfect way to prepare for your school, church, rec or AAU season. All NIKE basketball camps maintain a player to coach ratio of 8:1 and is staffed by high school and collegiate coaches as well as college players

Meet your coaching staffMichelle Manfredi
Michelle Manfredi joined Elite Hoops in April 2012. Manfredi previously was the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA. Besides recruiting, Manfredi was in charge of team and player development, along with developing and implementing all strength and conditioning workouts for the team.
Read Full BioManfredi spent the 2010-2011 season at Niagara University in New York as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach and Director of Basketball Operations. Prior to Niagara, Manfredi started her coaching career as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Western New Mexico University in 2009-2010. In New Mexico, Manfredi was in charge of recruiting, film breakdown, and guard development. In her first year coaching, she signed the top freshman recruit in the state of New Mexico, Jaleesa Russell.
After graduating college, Manfredi continued her playing career professionally overseas. Manfredi spent one season playing for the QTSV Basketball Club in Germany in 2008-2009. During her professional career, Manfredi was named team captain and played the most minutes in the league that season. She finished her professional career averaging 12 points and 10 rebounds a game. She helped the team to achieve their best record in the history of the club.
Manfredi played collegiate basketball at Niagara University from 2004-2008. Manfredi was a four-year starter and 3 year captain. She finished her collegiate career tallying over 700 points and 700 rebounds and finished 2nd in school history in the rebounding rankings and 1st in school history in games played.
Manfredi played 3 years of high school basketball at Serra Catholic High School in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. In her 3 years she helped the team to a 72-5 record and also led the team to win one WPIAL Championship while making it to the finals the other 2 years. She was named 3rd team All-State as a junior and 1st team All-State as a senior. Manfredi was also named the Daily News Player of the Year back-to-back years in 2003 and 2004. Manfredi holds the school record of points scored in a game with 42. She finished her high school career scoring 1,350 points.
Complete Skills: This program is intended to help players develop athletically. The individual camp is a great opportunity for young basketball players looking to develop and refine their fundamental basketball skills. This program also includes a curriculum for intermediate/ advanced players looking to enhance their skill set at the post, wing, or guard position. Emphasis is placed on skill development, shooting, offensive moves, defense, rebounding, team play, and more.
Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.

Camp Information
All campers must eat breakfast at home. Lunch is not included. Please bring your own lunch.

Registration Packet
A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact numbers, and a checklist of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring. The US Sports Camps health and release forms do not require a doctor's signature and they will be collected on the first day of camp.
