Alabama Tennis Camps
Samford University - Birmingham , Alabama
 Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama is the perfect location for a Nike Tennis Camp. Directing camp this summer Kemper Baker who enters his third season as the men's head tennis coach at Samford after serving as an assistant coach in 2001-02. Baker stresses three key elements in his effort to take the Samford men's tennis program to a top national level.
Baker, a native of Richmond, Va., also serves as a player development coach for the Academy at Lakeshore, where he trains some of the best young junior players in Alabama. Baker and other USTA coaches conduct area training centers for the junior players. The centers serve the dual purpose of exposing players to a high level of coaching in a competitive atmosphere and allowing the USTA to identify and develop the American tennis stars of the future.
As a player, Baker competed as a junior, collegian and professional. He has held world rankings in both singles and doubles. He currently competes on the USTA Professional Circuit as well as the ITF Futures and ATP tours. Baker is a 1999 graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he played for the an Ole Miss Rebels tennis team that was ranked as high as fifth nationally.

 Roll Tide! Train this summer with Alabama’s best. The University of Alabama’s athletic program is steeped in tradition and pride, which makes this Crimson Tide Tennis Camp an unforgettable experience.
Campers will play at one of the finest tennis complexes in the nation, which features eight lighted outdoor courts, and four indoor courts at the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility. Campers also have access to the varsity track, swimming pools, and numerous recreational facilities. Off-court activities include a pizza party, games, and other social events.

Co-director camp is head women’s coach Jenny Mainz has a solid reputation as an enthusiastic, experienced coach. A former collegiate standout player, she coached top teams at University of Houston, Florida State University, and Iowa before coming to lead the Crimson Tide to new levels of success.
Also co-directing camp is head men's coach Billy Pate who was the former head men's coach at Georgia Perimeter and Notre Dame. He led the tide men's team to the "Sweet 16" during his first year there.
