The Sacred Heart Pioneers invite you to an intense session of field hockey training on the shores of the Long Island Sound.  

Campers receive collegiate training, practicing techniques and tactics that have been successfully used by the Pioneers field hockey program. Campers practice and play on the University's home turf field.  

Highlights Include

  • Minimum of six hours of instruction daily
  • Instruction from prominent college and high school coaches as well as former or current collegiate athletes
  • Partner Camp and sanctioned to make referrals to the US Field Hockey Futures program
  • 10:1 Camper to Staff ratio
  • Special goalkeeping instruction
  • Personal evaluations from your coach
  • Reversible jersey, STX water bottle and STX ball
  • STX sticks are awarded as prizes

Camp Details


The NIKE Field Hockey camp at Sacred Heart University provides campers with top quality instruction plus:

Overnight campers: Dormitory housing on campus and all meals are provided.

Extended Day campers (9am-9pm - except on first and last day): Lunch and dinner are provided.

24-hour supervision is an important feature of every NIKE Field Hockey Camp. Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.

Check-in: between 12:00-1:30pm on Saturday, July 12th
Check-out: Graduation is at 11:45am on Tuesday, July 15th. Final games take place from 8:00-11:35am on Tuesday


Ratio: 1:10
Players Grouped by: skill, age, years of experience
Evaluation: Written by coaching staff
Equipment Needed: hockey stick, water bottle, mouth guard, shin guards, court and turf shoes and goalies must bring full goalie protective equipment
Facility: Campers train on turf fields.  If it rains, there are indoor courts available.

Roommates: guaranteed if requested 14 days prior to camp
Bathrooms: On each floor
Linens: Not provided. Please bring own linens or sleeping bag, pillow, pillowcase and a towel

Medical Facility: 1 athletic trainer on-site and a Hospital nearby

Team Discount: If eight or more campers register together, as a group by mail or fax, each camper will receive a $30 discount. Click “Get Brochure” above and print the application. All applications must be received at the same time via mail or fax. If all members of your group pay with a Visa or MasterCard, feel free to fax your applications to 415-479-6061 to expedite processing. Late or individual registrations are not eligible to receive the group discount. Discount does not apply to team only camps.

Katie Kloeckener

Katie Kloeckener begins her second season as Head Coach and sixth season as a member of the Sacred Heart University field hockey coaching staff.  Kloeckener has help tutor a two time NEC Goalkeeper of the Year, one NEC Defensive Player of the Year, 5 All-NEC First Team Selections, as well as 8 All-NEC Second Team Selections in her tenure at Sacred Heart. Kloeckener joined the Pioneer coaching staff at the beginning of the 2008 season after a four-year playing career at Ball State University, where she graduated in May of 2008. At Ball State, Kloeckener was part of a team that was the Mid-American Conference runner-up in 2006. She was recognized for her academic accomplishments, as she was named to the MAC All-Academic Team and was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association Academic Team four straight years from 2004-07.

Attending next year

Nike Field Hockey Camp at Sacred Heart University was a very enjoyable camp. I improved many of my skills while learning some new tricks as well. I made friends that I know I will keep in contact with and I hope to see them and the coaches next year when I attend the camp again.
