More Important Camp Details

Coaching

IJGA offers expertly trained coaches universally known for their ability to teach a technically sound swing and help golfers learn how to manage their way around any golf course, resulting in better play and lower scores. Participants play at least nine holes of golf with their coaches each day, working on course management. There will be one group Mental Conditioning session each week and well as access to the Director of Mental Conditioning.

On-Course Management Program

Students will be a part of the foursome and play four (4) holes on course with an experienced IJGA coach who will guide them through the decisions that make for better game management.

College Planning and Placement

IJGA’s College Planning & Placement team works with campers to introduce them to the concept of creating an individualized roadmap for reaching their goal of studying and playing golf at the collegiate level. During Summer Camp, information session will be offered on College Planning & Placement giving campers the information they need to get on the right path to play at the collegiate level.

Housing

The dorms at IJGA are a place to unwind, talk to friends, listen to music, and find time to be alone. Fellow campers become friends and teammates, and lifelong connections are forged. IJGA campers live in The Village, a gated community located in The Lakes at Myrtle Park apartment complex. Spacious living quarters allow campers to relax and feel at home. Campers have one roommate and up to five housemates and are paired by age and gender. Each apartment has a living room, dining room, kitchen and washer/dryer. Campers have access to wireless internet and cable television.

Dining

Nutrition is a priority at IJGA, so our menus are constantly changing to incorporate better-balanced meals. IJGA FUEL is an IJGA exclusive on-campus dining facility that serves wholesome, healthy and delicious meals daily in a relaxing environment designed for the enjoyment of all.

Supervision

Housing is managed by a team of Residential Instructors and full-time Student Life staff who serve as leaders and mentors for our campers and students. They provide supervision and guidance seven days a week. Residential Instructors wake campers up in the morning and enforce their curfews at night.

Safety and Security

Our students live in a gated community where security is a top priority. Similar to a college dorm, each student has a magnetic pass card that allows them access to The Village. All visitors must check in at the Student Life office. The campus at IJGA assures parents that their child is safe in a well-disciplined environment that promotes self-worth. Questions about safety or security can be directed to Erin Elliott, Director of Student Life.

Events and Activities

In order to succeed, campers require a well balanced social life and at IJGA there is always something to do! Each day after practice and before dinner, campers have a dedicated time to unwind playing soccer, ping pong, swimming or just hanging out with friends. After dinner, campers can participate in an evening activity chosen by the group and chaperoned by their Residential Instructor. These activities include everything from going to the beach to playing mini golf to go-kart racing. On weekends students go to the beach, ride bikes, play tennis and go horseback riding. IJGA students also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of planned and supervised outings. These outings include off-campus trips to local shopping malls, jet skiing, paintball, Asian markets, World Golf Village Hall of Fame and even Orlando theme parks! Boredom is not something students worry about at IJGA.

Travel and Planning

IJGA offers transportation to and from the Savannah-Hilton Head (SAV) and Hilton Head (HHH) airports for $75 one way/$150 round trip. If you are planning on renting a property in Hilton Head, please ask about our partnership with Beach Rentals of Hilton Head. We are also happy to provide a list of hotel and resort recommendations.
