Men's Head Coach, Rob Shutte, and his staff of college coaches and players are on hand to provide a competitive camp environment for junior golfers ages 12 - 18. Daily range instruction will take place in the mornings followed by course play in the afternoons at the Rutgers University Golf Course under the supervision and direction of our Nike camp staff. Rutgers University Golf Course is one of the most popular public courses in New Jersey and it's a mere half mile from the suites where Nike campers are housed. Our experienced staff, led by Rutgers Head Coach, Rob Shutte, looks forward to helping each camper become a better golfer!

Rutgers University Golf Course
The Rutgers University Golf Course was established in 1963 and plays to 6,400 yards from the back tees. Regarded as one of the most popular public courses in NJ, the course annually hosts the Rutgers University Men’s and Women’s Golf Invitational. In addition to the course, Rutgers has a newer 36 stall driving range, short game pitching and chipping area and practice putting green. A full-scale snack bar is available to the campers at all times and the pro shop is well stocked with golf accessories and Scarlet Knights memorabilia.Meet your coaching staff
Rob Shutte is in his second season as head men’s golf coach at Rutgers University. He has eight years of collegiate head coaching experience, including two seasons as head women’s golf coach at Lehigh University. A PGA Class “A” member, Shutte has strong ties to the metropolitan region. He served as Assistant Golf Professional at Arcola Country Club in Paramus, N.J. in 2003 after working as a Program Administrator and Teaching Golf Professional at First Tee of Metropolitan New York in the Bronx in 2002.
Our Nike camp staff consists of Division I college coaches, PGA professionals and current/former college players who serve as camp counselors.
The Overnight fee includes all golf instruction, course play, evening activities, housing and all meals. The Extended Day fee includes all of the above except housing and breakfast. Extended Day campers may participate in the evening activities which will include recreational sports, movies, and more. Please not that there are no weekend stay-over options at the Rutgers University Camp.
Campers are housed in three-room, six-person, air-conditioned suites on the Busch Campus of Rutgers University. Linens are NOT provided, campers must bring their own sheets, blankets, pillows and towels.
Check-In and Check-Out
Overnight campers will check-in at the Busch Campus Suites from 2:30 - 3:30 pm on Sunday. The graduation ceremony will take place on Thursday at 3:45 pm, parents are encouraged to attend. Departure will follow from 4:00-5:00 pm.
Campers that arrive at Newark International Airport are to secure their own transportation to and from camp.
Campers are supervised 24 hours a day. The staff lives in the dormitories/resort accommodations with the campers and participates in evening activities. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are strictly prohibited, and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.
A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a list of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring.

Sample Daily Schedule
- 7:30am Wake up and breakfast in dining halls
- 8:45am Depart to golf facility
- 9:00am Instruction stations -- campers rotate between putting, chipping, pitching, bunker and full swing practice
- 12:00pm Lunch
- 1:00pm Course play with staff focusing on all facets of the game -- strategy, shot/club selection, rules and etiquette
- 6:00pm Dinner
- 7:30pm Evening activities
- 10:00pm Lights out in dorms
