He graduated with a BS in Business Management and Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Read Full BioJohn is both an accomplished instructor and player. As a latecomer to the game of golf, John has only playing since 1991. He has made it his goal to be one of the best Players and Instructors in the Metropolitan PGA Section, and is well on his way. As a player, he has numerous Top 10 finishes in Met Section events. In 2002, he was tied for the low qualifier at the LI PGA Match Play Championship (72), winning his first four matches, only to lose to host Darrel Kestner in the finals at Deepdale Golf Club. John also holds the non-competitive course record at The Links at Shirley, with a bogey free (65), and at Stonebridge Golf Club with a 63 (28 on the front nine). He has the competitive course record for the front nine at the PGA Village South Course at (30). He has one competitive hole-in-one (9 iron / 163 yards), playing in a Monday Qualifier on the Nike Tour in 2001.
Also an accomplished instructor, John takes pride in his eclectic methods of instruction. Focusing on forming a solid foundation rooted in "the basics" (grip, stance, posture, and alignment), he will teach you to swing the club free of tension, so it feels effortless. His approach takes into account that everyone is made differently, both physically and mentally, so his teaching approach is different from student to student. He will make you understand not just how, but why we do the things we do (cause and effect relationships). A student of the game, he has a well-rounded approach that suits beginners to professionals.
John is joined by other accomplished PGA professionals from the area who serve as instructors during each Nike Golf Camp session.
Nike Golf Schools & Junior Camps offer each junior golfer the same opportunity to succeed, regardless of their starting point. Camp Director, John Forster, and his staff offer a positive and fun learning environment, one in which campers can thrive under the direction of motivated and highly skilled instructors. John's coaching has inspired hundreds of junior golfers over the years and he looks forward to another great summer of Nike Golf Camps.
Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week.
