Nike Golf Schools & Junior Camps, Riverwalk Golf Club San Diego, California
Nike Golf Schools & Junior Camps is proud to offer programs at Riverwalk Golf Club. Designed by Ted Robinson and Ted Robinson Jr., this legendary facility, which is located in the heart of San Diego, offers three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations.
Full Day Camp
Fun, fun, fun is the name of the game at Riverwalk Golf Club. The Full Day camps are designed for boys and girls between the ages of 7-17. The Learning Center Professional Teaching Staff is on hand to provide campers with top quality instruction each day. At Nike Junior Golf Camps we accommodate all skill levels; the junior player just discovering the game to the high school player trying to move up on the team. Under the watchful eye of the staff, campers practice all aspects of their games- putting, chipping, bunker play and full-swing. The morning session is followed by lunch and then 9 holes with on-course instruction.
Half Day Camp
Our half day programs are designed to create interest and foster development in players of all ability levels. For three hours each day, campers sharpen their skills with the Learning Center staff, made up of experienced teaching professionals. Strong emphasis is placed on the fundamentals—stance, grip, posture, full swing, rules & etiquette, etc. As the week unfolds, campers receive quality short-game instruction and by Friday, each Nike junior golfer will see improvement in his or her golf game!
Highlights Include
- Small group instruction with low student/teacher ratio from experienced PGA professionals
- Daily course play with the staff (9 holes) focusing on course management, shot selection, strategy, rules and etiquette (Full Day Camp only)

I am San Diego homegrown all the way, and have been a regular on this property since the days of Stardust Country Club. Playing, competing, practicing, and taking lessons from past instructors has forged a long lasting bond with this facility. I started my career in golf at Carmel Mountain Ranch working as an Outside Service Staff member, then onto The Vineyard as an Assistant Professional. After spending three years in Hawaii working a Duke's Canoe Club Waikiki, I moved back home to continue my career in golf. I then pursued positions at Carlton Oaks County Club and Cottonwood Golf Club, gathering experience in management and tournament operations. Then, after close to ten years working in the industry, I found the a dream job just a few short minutes from my home. With any luck I will spend many of the up coming years at Riverwalk Golf Club doing what I love to do.
The summer months at Riverwalk Golf Club are, to say the least, busy. One thing that we can rely on is that Pat Diaz will be here and teaching the Nike Golf Camps. 2011 will be his 10th year of involvement with the camps, from student golf instructor to Lead Teaching Professional. Along with Pat, our current Teaching staff has been involved with the program for an average of 4+ summers. We have a great time and make every effort to give the Nike Golf Camp golfers the best experience possible.
Riverwalk Golf Club
Steeped in a rich tradition of golf legends past, Riverwalk Golf Club offers a classic golfing experience like no other. Formerly known as the Stardust Country Club, the course entertained a myriad of golf's legends while hosting the PGA tour during the 50s and 60s. Now, golfers will once again be treated to the challenge and drama of the original course at the newly reborn Riverwalk. What was once flat now features undulating fairways, waterfalls and well-protected greens. Water comes into play on 13 of the 27 holes with a spectacular waterfall surrounding the green of the signature hole. The San Diego River is a prominent feature of the layout, contributing to the beauty and challenge of the course.
Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week.

More Confident in my Game
"Great camp. I feel much more confident in my game and use my head more on the course. Coaches taught me a lot about shot selection and strategy that has helped me lower my score!"
