Come join us at Nike Golf Schools & Junior Camps at the beautiful Sacred Heart University campus for an unforgettable summer golf experience. We are committed to helping each camper become a better player, and we hope all our participants leave camp having established new friendships and more passion for the game.
Golf instruction and course play takes place at nearby D. Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course under the instruction of Sacred Heart Head Club Golf Coach, Randy Taylor. Coach Taylor is extremely active in the Fairfield, CT golf community and his young, professional staff brings a new and exciting approach to golf instruction.

Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course
This facility offers two 18 hole courses. The Red Course is more open than the Black Course, where tee shots are more demanding. The fairways on both courses are generous, and the greens are exceptional. The terrain ranges from flat to hilly with creeks flowing throughout the entire layout, making it a beautiful round of golf for players of all abilities.

Camp Director
Randy Taylor
Randy Taylor, 29, was born and raised in nearby Bridgeport, CT. He is currently in his fourth season as director of instruction for Nike Golf Schools at D. Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course. Randy is now in his 8th season as program director for the First Tee at Fairchild Wheeler. This is also his first year as the site director for the LPGA Girls National program.
He began his professional career as an assistant golf professional running special corporate events and junior golf schools at both Fishers Island in Miami, FL and Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield, CT. He also assisted in the day-to-day operations during the 2003 US Girls Championship. In addition to his responsibilities at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course, he is currently head coach for the Club Golf Team at Sacred Heart University as well as the assistant coach for the Men's and Women's Division I golf team. He helped lead his Men's team to a 2011 Northeast Division 1 title at Champion Gates Golf Course in Orlando, FL
Nike camp staffs are generally comprised of other teaching and touring professionals, college coaches, renowned high school coaches and former/current college players who serve as camp counselors.
Nike Golf Schools & Junior Camps at Sacred Heart offer each junior golfer the same opportunity to succeed, regardless of their starting point. Coach Randy Taylor and his staff provide a positive and fun learning environment, one in which campers can thrive under the direction of motivated and highly skilled instructors.
Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week.
Sample Daily Schedule
- 7:00am Wake-up/breakfast
- 8:00am Skills demonstrations conducted by camp staff
- 8:30-11:30am Instruction - campers rotate through stations focusing on putting, chipping, pitching and bunker play, full-swing
- Noon Lunch/free-time
- 1:00-5:30pm Course play - staff accompanies campers to provide instruction on course management, club/shot selection, rules and etiquette
- 6:00pm Dinner/relaxation
- 7:00-9:00pm Fun, supervised evening activities (movies, field games, pizza night etc.)
- 10:00pm Lights out
- The Overnight fee includes all golf instruction, green fees, evening activities, housing and all meals.
- The Extended Day fee includes all of the above except housing and breakfast. Extended Day campers may participate in the evening activities which will include swimming, recreational sports, movies, and more.
- Check-in for Overnight and Extended Day campers will take place at Sacred Heart University at Seton Hall on the first day of camp between 3:00 - 4:00 pm. Check-out will take place on the last day of camp at Fairchild Wheeler between 3:00 - 4:00 pm for all campers.
- Check-in for Day Campers takes place at 8:45am at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course on the first day of camp (Monday).
- Rooms are air conditioned but linens will not be provided, campers need to bring their own bed linens, pillow, blankets and towels. Roommates are 98% guaranteed and, if no roommate is requested, campers will be paired with other campers their age.
- Campers flying into Bradley International Airport will need to secure their own transportation to and from the airport. An arrival between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm and a departure after 6:00 pm are preferred for the first and last day of camp. Transportation services are available through http://www.bradleyairport.com.
- Campers are supervised 24 hours a day. The staff lives in the dormitories/resort accommodations with the campers and participates in evening activities. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are strictly prohibited, and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.
- A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a list of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring.
