Nike Junior Golf Camps are offering programs at Salt Creek Golf Club in Chula Vista for the second straight year. Our staff, led by Phillip Schmidt III, director of the Salt Creek Jr. Golf Academy, is dedicated to giving each Nike camper the best golf experience possible.
Full Day Camps
These camps are an excellent opportunity for junior golfers (ages 7-16) to improve their skills and their course management at the same time. Each morning begins with three hours of instruction which covers all facets of the game and prepares the junior player for the challenges of the course. Morning instruction is followed by lunch and on-course play where professionals teach strategy, etiquette, shot selection and course management. The camps run Monday thru Friday, 9:00-4:00.
Half Day Camps
These camps offer juniors (ages 7-16) a fun opportunity to experience the wonders of golf in a healthy and positive environment. The camps run Monday-Friday and include 15 hours of instruction. Strong emphasis is placed on the fundamentals-stance, grip, posture, full swing, rules and etiquette, etc. As the week unfolds, campers receive quality short-game instruction and by Friday, each Nike junior golfer will see improvement in their golf game.

Phillip Schmidt III
Phillip Schmidt III, Nike Golf Junior Camp Director has been teaching golf to adults and juniors of all levels for over 20 years and started playing golf himself at the age of 5. The Salt Creek Jr. Golf Academy programs at Salt Creek Golf Club, which have group and private lesson instruction for all players and ages, were started under his direction in 2010. As a result, Salt Creek Jr. Golf Academy has become known as the place to learn how to play golf.
The main reason for the growth and positive reputation of Salt Creek's camps is due to the exceptional tour level teaching staff. Ex- PGATOUR Member Bryan Gorman and University of Texas Golf Team graduate Hector Diaz Ceballos will assist in all camps this year at Salt Creek GC. Besides having fun in the camps, the juniors will come away with a greatly improved game due to the instructors' enthusiasm and commitment to their students.
