Nike Junior Golf Camps is thrilled to announce the return of its overnight program at Washington State University. Enjoy top-notch instruction from Washington State University Men's and Women's Golf coaches. We look forward to another great golf camp this summer!

Washington State University sits in Eastern Washington in a region commonly referred to as Palouse. WSU boasts its own beautiful 18-hole golf course on campus, Palouse Ridge Golf Club, and has a fantastic golf coach at the helm, Dustin White. Campers of all abilities will enjoy daily instruction and course play under the direction of WSU coaches and current/former players. With the right mix of golf and fun off-the-course activities, this camp should prove to be a memorable and rewarding experience for all who attend. Campers will be housed on campus at WSU and all golf activities will take place at Palouse Ridge GC.

Day Camp Option: The Day Camp program runs from 9:00am - 4:00pm Thursday and Friday of camp. Following check-in on Wednesday, day campers participate from 12:00 - 5:00pm. On Saturday, day campers participate from 9:00am - 4:30pm prior to check-out.

*Overnight campers are recommended to be vaccinated per University mandate, but not required.

Camp Details

This program is designed for boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 18 (varies by program). This camp is an opportunity for aspiring college golfers to learn for themselves what a week of college golf is like. These camps offer training and real competition scenarios that develop every part of your game. During the week, campers work on short game, putting, approach shots, course management, and will test their new skills in weekly competitions and 18-hole tournaments. Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week.

2024 OVERVIEW

    • Overnight: Wednesday-Sunday
    • Full Day: Wednesday-Sunday
      • Wednesday: 12:00pm - 5:00pm
      • Thursday-Friday: 9:00am - 4:30pm
      • Saturday: 9:00am - 4:30pm
    • The Day Camp program runs from 9:00am - 4:00pm Thursday and Friday of camp. Following check-in on Wednesday, day campers participate from 12:00 - 5:00pm. On Saturday, day campers participate from 9:00am - 4:30pm prior to check-out. A complete schedule will be given out during check-in.
  • Check-In: Registration for all campers (overnight and day) occurs on Wednesday from 12:00pm-1:00pm at Global Scholars Dorm on the Washington State University campus. Day campers can arrive at 12:00pm-1:00pm and they will depart at 5:00pm from the WSU Golf Team Practice Facility.
  • Check-out: Camp graduation is at 4:30pm on Saturday at Palouse Ridge Golf Course, exact location TBD and will be shared during check-in. Departure from camp is immediately following graduation.
  • Meals: Overnight campers will receive all meals during camp (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Day campers will receive lunch each day.
  • Program: The All Abilities program is designed to improve the fundamental skills needed for golf including putting, chipping, bunker play, and full-swing. On the first day of camp, all participants will be evaluated by the instructors and placed into groups based on age and ability level in various individual, small group and full group settings.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Morning instruction and afternoon course play.
  • Meals: Overnight campers will receive all meals during camp (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Day campers will receive lunch each day.
  • Supervision: Campers are under staff supervision at all times as staff members live in adjacent rooms to overnight campers. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are strictly prohibited, and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.
  • Camper Amenity Package: Campers will receive an amenity package including a Nike hat, drawstring bag, SRIXON golf balls, camp workbook, and graduation certificate.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:8 staff-to-camper ratio.
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience.
  • Equipment Needed: Players should supply their own golf clubs, glove, golf balls, and tees.
  • Facilities: Palouse Ridge Golf Club
  • Medical Protocol: Camp will have on-site staff to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
  • Housing:
    • Dorm: On campus at the Global Scholars Dorm
    • Campers Per Room: Campers will be housed in double rooms.
    • Roommates: Campers stay in two-person rooms and are assigned by age, gender and roommate requests. If you have a roommate request, and have not previously provided us with the information, please do so no later than 14 days prior to the camp start date. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
    • Linens: Linens are not provided. Please bring your own sheets, blanket, towel, and pillow. Bed size is 80” x 36”.
    • Air Conditioning: All rooms are air-conditioned.
    • Key Deposit: Please bring a check for $75 for room key deposit made payable to “US Sports Camps”. Check will be returned after the key is turned in on the last day of camp.
    • Spending Money: We recommend that each overnight camper bring $60-75 per week of spending money to cover incidentals like snacks, souvenirs and other activities. Please bring cash in a marked envelope for your child.
    • Important Notes: Check-in for camp will be at Global Scholars Dorm between 12pm-1pm. Luggage can be unloaded right out front or in the nearby parking lots surrounding the dorms. However, you cannot park for an extended period of time in the surrounding crimson lots without paying for a daily pass, which can be purchased at https://parking.wsu.edu.
      • **You do not need a login and will select the "order permit" option and the day permit is at the top of the list. A day permit is $13.20 plus tax. We advise unloading luggage and then parking either in the hourly parking nearby through the AIMS mobile parking app. See attached map for hourly parking locations. Or parking in the Green 5 lot next to Beasley Coliseum as it is free on weekends. Please see the attached map showing its location.

*Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.

US Sports Camps and Washington State University are NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money. Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment and personal items. We recommend that you do not send unnecessary items, which can get lost. Camper bags may be inspected upon check in or at any time during camp to ensure no drugs, alcohol or other improper substances are brought to camp.

TRANSPORTATION

Nike Junior Golf Camps does not provide ground transportation from airports, train stations or bus stations. Parents/guardians are fully responsible for getting campers to and from camp check-in/out. If you have a child flying to camp, please visit the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport website for information on ground service to and from campus.

  • 7:30am Wake-up/breakfast
  • 8:30 AM Bus departs for Palouse Ridge GC
  • 8:00am Camp meeting at practice facility, skills demonstrations from staff focusing on key elements of the swing for that day
  • 9:00am Camp meeting at the practice facility, warm-up & skills demonstrations from staff focusing on key elements of the swing for that day
  • 9:30am Instruction – campers rotate stations working on putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play and the full swing
  • 12:00pm Lunch
  • 1:00pm Course play with staff. Coaches to provide on course instruction on course management, club and shot selection, strategy, rules and etiquette

  • 5:15pm Bus departs to Washington State University

Stunning links style course runs adjacent to the WSU campus and follows the natural contours of the Palouse's trademark rolling hills. Palouse Ridge is home to the WSU men's and women's golf teams. In 2009, Palouse Ridge was ranked the #2 "Best New Course" by Golf Digest and Golfweek.
