Nike Junior Golf Camps in Fort Worth, Texas return in 2014! Leading the staff of experienced instructors is Camp Director, Mike Bury. All campers are housed in dorm rooms on campus at University of Texas Arlington and are bused to the golf course each day.
Campers will take advantage of the phenomenal course and practice facilities offered by Woodhaven Country Club. All Nike participants will develop their technique, skill/ball control, long game and short game throughout the week. Between range and on-course instruction, campers will learn how to practice and train for maximum improvement and efficiency. Mental toughness, physical development, course management and strategy are also addressed during the week.

Woodhaven Country Club
Woodhaven Country Club is a spectacular course routed through the hills of North Texas. The Club boasts an 18-hole, par 71 championship golf course designed by Leon Howard and pro-golfer Terry Dill. The gently curving fairways and challenging elevation changes are punctuated by meandering creeks and streams, dramatic arching trees and strategic bunkers. Laci graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Fitness management and is a Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist and Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Laci is also a Level 1 Certified Golf Fitness Instructor through the Titleist Performance Institute. While attending school, Laci played for the Texas State women’s golf team. Laci is driven in developing her own skills in golf fitness and exhibits the same professional attitude with her clients. She not only understands the game of golf, but is very knowledgeable about swing biomechanics and other aspects related to the game. She is also a junior golf instructor for North Texas PGA (NTPGA).
Over the past 15 years Brendan Ryan has studied, coached and played golf in America becoming connected with top coaches and teachers. This includes a career at Campbell University and successful coaching jobs within the NAIA (University of the Cumberlands), NCAA (Ohio Wesleyan, Coppin State and University of Kentucky) and the NJCAA where he is the assistant women’s golf coach at Redlands Community College.
In these roles, Brendan has distinguished himself as an outstanding recruiter and coach with an excellent record that includes; 2 individual national champions (Chad Poling, Ohio Wesleyan/ Sarah Schober, Redlands Community College), 1 team National Championship (’12 Redlands Community College) and 12 players within the top 250 ranking on Golfstat.com. In addition, Brendan has more than 50 weeks of camps at Duke, Wake Forest, Purdue, Indiana, North Carolina and Golf House Tennessee.
Nike Golf Schools & Junior Camps provide young golfers with the tools to enjoy this great game for a lifetime. Our curriculum is the perfect blend of expert instruction, course play and fun off-course activities. Nike junior golfers are housed in double rooms on campus at University of Texas at Arlington and have their meals in the dining halls, giving each camper a glimpse of the college life. Golf instruction takes place at Woodhaven Country Club a short drive from campus which is the perfect environment to improve your game.
- The Overnight camp includes all golf instruction, course play, evening activities, housing and meals.
- The Extended Day option includes everything the Overnight camp offers except breakfast and lodging (9:00am - 9:00pm).
- Extended Day campers will be dropped off and picked up on campus each day.
Campers stay in double rooms on campus. All rooms are air conditioned.
Nike Golf Schools and Jr. Camps does not provide transportation to and from airports, bus depots or train stations. The packet we send to registered campers in the spring offers suggestions on shuttle services for each specific camp.
Campers are supervised 24 hours a day. The staff lives in the dormitories with the campers and participates in evening activities. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are strictly prohibited, and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.
A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a list of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring.
Sample Daily Schedule
- 7:00am Wake up and breakfast
- 8:30am Skills demonstrations by the staff on the driving range
- 8:45 - Noon Instructional groups - campers rotate stations working on putting, chipping, pitching, full swing
- Noon Lunch and break
- 1:00 - 5:00pm Course play - staff on course with campers helping with shot selection, course management, strategy, rules, and etiquette
- 6:00pm Dinner on campus
- 7:00 - 9:00pm Evening activities (bowling, swimming, movies etc.)
- 10:00pm In rooms and lights out
