Nike Golf Schools & Junior Camps, Pioneer Creek Golf Course Maple Plain, Minnesota
Nike Golf Schools & Junior Camps is bringing a half-day program to Maple Plain, Minnesota, a short distance outside of Minneapolis. Augsburg College Head Coach, Ted Vickerman, will direct the program and help junior golfers improve their game this summer.
This camp program runs Monday - Thursday, 1:00 - 4:00pm, and includes 12 hours of technical range instruction. On the last day of camp, golfers will enjoy a complimentary lunch and 9 holes of golf to follow. Campers of all abilities (ages 7 - 12) are welcome to join Coach Vickerman and his staff for a week of golf instruction in a positive learning environment.

Camp Director
Ted Vickerman
Ted Vickerman (Augsburg '02) was named co-head coach for the Augsburg men's golf program in May 2005, and assumed head coaching duties on a solo basis prior to the 2007-08 season. In August 2009, he also assumed head coaching duties for the Augsburg women's golf program. He is active in Twin Cities golf, playing to a low single-digit USGA handicap, and competed in the 2009 USGA Public Links Championship after winning a sectional qualifying meet. Vickerman also has experience with fundamental instruction from three golf teachers ranked in the top 30 by Golf Digest.
Pioneer Creek Golf Course
Situated upon 200 picturesque, rolling acres along Pioneer Creek, Pioneer Creek Golf Course is a "must-play" in the western suburbs of Minneapolis. Five sets of tees provide a challenge for every level of camper. The great practice facility and dedicated staff make this a great location to host Nike Golf Schools & Junior Camps.
Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week.
Sample Daily Schedule
- 12:45pm Campers arrive at course
- 1:00pm Staff demonstrations
- 1:15 - 4:00pm Instruction - practice skills and fundamentals; grip, stance, posture, pitching/chipping, putting and full swing
- 4:00pm Campers depart
A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a list of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring.
