SACRED HEART UNIVERSITY - Fairfield, Connecticut
This summer's NIKE Lacrosse Camp in Michigan takes place at Adrian College, a private Division III school located in Adrian, about 45 minutes outside Ann Arbor and only 90 minutes from Detroit. Campers train each day on fields located near the Merillat Sport & Fitness Center, an 80,000 square-foot facility featuring a multi-sport forum with three courts for basketball, volleyball or tennis, a 160-meter track and two racquetball courts.
John Paul begins his 10th season at the helm of the Michigan men's lacrosse team having accumulated an 152-37 record through his first nine years. His teams have earned a dominating 72 - 2 record in the Central Collegiate Lacrosse Association. Under Paul, the Wolverines have won a stretch of six of the last eight CCLA championships and have appeared in the USL MDIA national tournament each of the last eight years as well, reaching at least the quarterfinals every year.
Also, under his tenure at UM, the team has played a truly national schedule, with trips to Utah, Arizona, California, Virginia, Maryland and Florida to play top-level opponents. Paul built the team from a perennial top-15 performer to a national contender after one year at the helm, and the Wolverines have stayed at the top since. Paul has been involved with the Michigan lacrosse program, as a player and then as a coach, since 1985. A three-year captain at Michigan, in 1989 Paul was drafted by the Detroit Turbos of the Major Indoor Lacrosse League. He also played post-collegiate club lacrosse for the Motor City Lacrosse Club until 1996.
