Nike Basketball Camp Director, Blake Ahearn, Inducted Into MSU Athletic Hall of Fame

NIKE BASKETBALL CAMP DIRECTOR, BLAKE AHEARN, INDUCTED INTO MISSOURI STATE UNIVERSITY HALL OF FAME

February 16, 2016 - San Rafael, CA – Nike Basketball Camp Director, Blake Ahearn, was inducted to the Missouri State University (MSU) Athletics Hall of Fame on February 13, 2016, in St. Louis, MO. 

To be considered for induction, nominees must have participated in athletics and must demonstrate great athletic ability, high-level sportsmanship, and good character. Personal accomplishments, leadership, community service, and career achievements are also evaluated.

During his four years on the Bears basketball team, Ahearn set the NCAA record for free-throw percentage in a season with 97.5% and for a career with 94.6%, and is also 7th on MSU’s all-time scoring list with 1,677 points.

Ahearn attributes his success to hard work and his family’s support. “My dad always taught me that if you want to be in at the end of the game, you better know how to shoot free-throws,” he said.” His dedication and perseverance have helped him become one of the greatest free-throw shooters in NCAA history and is second to John Wooden for the most consecutive free-throws made.
