US Sports Camps Tips Off 2015 McCracken Basketball Camps Schedule

Celebrating its 53rd year of operation, McCracken is pleased to present basketball camps across the Midwest with locations in Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin and Ohio.

“You can’t win a championship in the off-season but you can lose one.” – Coach Todd German

“Summer is the time when players get better. They get exposure to new techniques, drills and skill analysis. In addition, playing against top competition and players from other areas is a great way to determine one's strengths and weaknesses on the court."

Founded in 1963 by Indiana University's Hall-of-Fame coach, Branch McCracken, McCracken Basketball Camps has instructed over 120,000 players (boys and girls), from the most advanced high schoolers to younger players just learning the game.

This comprehensive and fundamentals based basketball education helps lay the foundation for success as players move forward in their careers. Players who attend McCracken camps will have the opportunity to learn from the best high school and college-level coaches, and not only will campers become better on the court, but they will learn life lessons through basketball that can be applied in anything they decide to pursue off the court.

Instructional Skill Sessions help to refine the little things that matter such as, improving your range on a jump shot, finishing stronger in the paint, reducing turnovers by working on your weak hand, and becoming quicker on defense. Coaches will work in small groups to provide each player with personalized instruction, identifying strengths and weaknesses and most importantly what they need to do to make it to the next level. In addition, they will be able to apply what they learn in daily league games and scrimmages giving them confidence to step up and become court leaders.

“It's amazing how many McCracken Campers come back year after year. The main two reasons are the energy our staff brings every day to camp and the relationships we build with each camper,” says VP of Basketball Operations for US Sports Camps, Brent Koonce. “Our dedicated camp directors are experts in their field and work year round to help players improve. Our goal is for every camper to walk away with a renewed enthusiasm for basketball and memories to last a lifetime.”
