Fieldhockey

San Rafael, CA (Vocus/PRWEB)  -- Tara Danielson, Stanford University head field hockey coach, will join the well respected collegiate coaches in the national network of Nike Field Hockey Camps in July 2011.

Each year Nike Field Hockey Camps strive to provide young athletes with the best instruction around. This year, we are proud to announce another outstanding camp location- Stanford University. Stanford is well known for their superior athletics and accomplished coaches, a perfect combination for a phenomenal Nike Field Hockey Camp experience.

Tara Danielson enters her second season as the head coach for Stanford University. She became the winningest first-year head coach (15-6, 5-1 NorPac), leading the Cardinal to the NCAA Tournament and taking the NorPac Conference title. Stanford's 15 wins rank as the third-most in school history. In addition to enjoying an extensive international playing career, Danielson has developed a reputation as a pioneer within the field hockey community through her efforts on the developmental level while implementing several successful outreach programs.

The Stanford Field Hockey Camp is a co-ed camp specifically for players age 12 to18 and will focus on basic and advanced skills, position play, field hockey fundamentals and team strategy. This high tempo skills camp provides technical teaching and “new” skill development, in a fun yet competitive environment. Participants will experience a combination of skill development and game play situations in an intensive format with multiple repetitions.
Tara Danielson, shares her enthusiasm on camp this summer, “We are excited to introduce a new level of fun to the Nike summer camp experience. We teach technical skills in a high tempo format on the "one-of-a-kind" Stanford campus.”

NIKE Field Hockey Camps are designed to help players, ages 10–18, develop athletically. Key components to each camp include: mastering fundamental skills; experiencing lots of game competition; making friends; falling in love with field hockey. The goal is to stimulate a love for the game in young athletes by showing them how to accelerate their own progress and success.
