Nike Golf Camps Adds Overnight Program in South Carolina
Junior golfers in the Carolinas have access to elite golf instruction and a taste of college life at Wofford College.
January 16, 2015 – US Sports Camps welcomes its newest overnight golf camp at Wofford College just outside of Greenville, South Carolina. Golf instruction takes place at Country Club of Spartanburg and Wofford’s Golf Learning Center and resident campers are housed in the dorms on campus. Following golf activities each day, participants enjoy evening activities that can include campus tours, movies, and other sports activities.
“Wofford College joins our long list of existing camps at Division I institutions,” says Nicholas Brunner, vice president of Nike Golf Camps. “Coach Ridgeway has been running successful junior golf camps in South Carolina for years and we’re honored to have her partner with us this summer. Between the phenomenal golf facilities and experienced staff, the program at Wofford is primed to be an unforgettable experience for junior golfers.”
The camp is directed by Wofford Head Women’s Golf Coach, Angie Ridgeway. Ridgeway begins her 11th season at the helm and has guided the Terriers to unprecedented heights since arriving at Wofford in July 2004. The Terriers have won eight tournaments in Ridgeway’s era including Wofford’s first NCAA Division I tournament victory, the Wofford Invitational in October, 2004. Assisting Coach Ridgeway are other local teaching professionals and current varsity golfers.
“Working with juniors is refreshing and our staff is passionate about helping junior golfers improve and reach their goals”, says Head Coach, Angie Ridgeway. “We are excited to work with US Sports Camps to host a Nike Junior Golf Camp at Wofford College in 2015!”
The Nike Golf Camp at Wofford College runs from June 14th – 18th and offers an all-inclusive overnight program and a commuter option from 8:30AM - 5:00PM. The camp is co-ed and is designed for golfers of all skill levels, ages 10– 18.
