Three Big Ten Institutions on Board to Host Nike Golf Schools & Junior Camps

US Sports Camps to work with University of Illinois, Indiana University, and University of Minnesota golf coaches this summer.
(PRWEB) May 22, 2012 – Nike Golf Schools & Junior Camps has now teamed up with its third prominent Big Ten golf program with the addition of University of Minnesota. The Golden Gophers’ coaching staff joins long-time Nike Golf Camp programs University of Illinois and Indiana University (home of the Hoosier Golf Camp) to provide top-notch junior golf instruction in the Midwest region.
“We’ve fostered excellent relationships with University of Illinois Head Coach, Mike Small, and Indiana University Head Coach, Mike Mayer, over the years,” explains Nick Brunner, Manager of Nike Golf Schools & Junior Camps. “We are excited about adding University of Minnesota to our family, especially given our success at Illinois and Indiana.”
The Nike Junior Golf Camps at University of Minnesota are scheduled for June 24 – 28 and August 12 – 16, 2012. The programs are coed for junior golfers of all ability levels, ages 10 – 18. Golden Gophers head men’s and women’s golf coaches, John Carlson and Michelle Redman, will serve as camp co-directors with support from their assistant coaches, Tyler Stith and John Cleary. Overnight and commuter options are available for both camp weeks.

Nike Junior Golf Camps at University of Illinois are set for June 10 – 14 and July 8 – 12, 2012. Mike Small has guided the Fighting Illini to four consecutive Big Ten championships and has been consistently ranked in the top 10 in the country. Nike Junior Golf Camp, Hoosier Golf Camp is scheduled for July 22 – 26, 2012. Mike Mayer has been at the helm of the IU men’s team for 14 years and finished second in the 2012 Big Ten Championships. Mayer’s Hoosiers fought neck-and-neck with Small’s Fighting Illini in the conference tournament, ultimately falling to Illinois by three strokes.
