Wall Ball Challenge

Dear USSC/Nike Lacrosse Campers,

We have exciting news! This summer US Sports Camps and the Nike Lacrosse Camps are supporting US Lacrosse and SNYPR, who have launched a first-of-its-kind fundraising app based on your wall ball reps. All proceeds raised will go to USL’s First Stick Program to help put first sticks into the hands of new players who can’t afford them.

We are asking every one of our campers to “Accept the Challenge” to do 10,000 wall ball reps this summer, with the goal of raising more money than any other lacrosse club in the country!

What is the Wall Ball Challenge? It’s a 10,000-rep challenge over an 8-week period from July 1- August 20. Players get pledges from sponsors (a.k.a. parents!) who will pledge $ for the number of completed reps. Sponsors can pledge per rep (i.e. $.01/rep for 10,000 reps raises $100 for the First Stick Program), or they can pledge a fixed $ amount. Players will compete on regional and national leaderboards to see who can do the most reps and raise the most money.

This is a WIN-WIN for all involved! All USSC/Nike Lacrosse Campers get better by practicing wall ball while raising money to grow the game and put sticks into new players’ hands who can’t otherwise afford a new stick.

What do you need to do?

  • Download the App. To participate, download the ‘USL Wall Ball’ app from either the App Store or Google Play, depending on your phone/device.
  • Get Sponsors. Ask your parents, your grandparents, neighbors, or friends to sponsor you and make a pledge(s) for your reps. FYI - for you campers/players who are under 13 years of age, your first sponsor will have to be one of your parents or guardian. Adding a sponsor can be done right in the app, confirmed in an email to the sponsor, and can be a pledge amount per rep completed, or a fixed $ amount.
  • Get an Arm Sleeve. You will need an arm sleeve to hold your phone on your upper right arm. You can buy an arm sleeve at Lax World, either in-store or online here: http://laxworld.com/snypr-uslacrosse-wall-ball-challenge. You can also make a sleeve from a sock with the toe cut off and bring with you to camp.
  • Start Playing! Put the phone inside the sleeve on your upper right arm, hit “PLAY” on the app, start playing wall ball or catch, and the app does the rest of the work counting your reps and calculating the amount raised.
