Clark Family Running Camps Announce 2016 Summer Line-up
The Nike Running Camps introduce the Clark Family Running Camps to their 2016 Nike Running Camps schedule.
San Rafael, CA - The Nike Clark Family Running Camps are planning three weeks of instructive training for runners this summer. The Camp is created, facilitated and directed by members of the royal family of track and field, the Clark Family. Hazel Clark, Joetta Clark and Jearl Miles Clark have 12 Olympic teams to their credit and made history when they swept the 2000 Olympic Trials under the coaching of world class coach JJ Clark, brother of Hazel and Joetta and husband to Jearl Miles Clark.
The Family has designed a comprehensive training camp program which will focus on track and field fundamentals including drills, pacing, strength endurance, speed and core strengthening as well as the mental edge necessary for top athletic performances. The Clark Family Running Camps will allow Olympians, elite athletes and world class coaches to positively impact the lives of young athletes in an unprecedented way. These camps will transcend athletics and provide campers with the tools necessary to be a champion. Hazel Clark states that “the Clark Family Running Camps will offer expert instruction from our staff of Olympic stars in a challenging, fun and inspiring environment. Track and field has given us amazing opportunities and we look forward to positioning upcoming athletes for ultimate success.”
JJ Clark is a 22 time coach of the year, a member of the 2008 Olympic team coaching staff, serves as the head coach at UCONN and has coached numerous NCAA champions, national champions, national team members and world class athletes. Joetta Clark Diggs is a four-time Olympian and the founder of the JCD Sports Foundation. Jearl Miles Clark is a five-time Olympian and American record holder. Hazel Clark is a three-time Olympian and the founder of Future Olympian Sports Clinics and US Embassy appointed sports envoy
Dates are set for The Pennington School, NJ, to host an overnight and day track & field and cross country camp July 10-14, 2016; a track & field day camp program at the Hackley School in Tarrytown, NY. Plans are in play for a programs in Atlanta and Connecticut.
Runners will train with members of the Clark family and other world class athletes and Olympic stars.
At the NIKE Running Camps, the goals are to stimulate a love for running and to aid runners in becoming better, faster and smarter athletes. They provide an educational and inspirational experience for youth runners, all skill levels and abilities.
