San Rafael, CA (PRWEB) November 14, 2014 --
The Nike Green Mountain Running Camp (GMRC) announces the addition of Princeton’s Mike Henderson as camp co-director.  GMRC runs three weeks of cross country camp for both middle and high school runners each summer on the campus of Kimball Union Academy, in the gorgeous hills of central New Hampshire.  .

GMRC offers the perfect mix of learning, training and recreation. Daily runs on beautiful trails right from campus, guest speakers and educational breakout sessions give the runners a perfect balance between the practical and educational aspects of cross country running.

In his third year at Princeton, Henderson has years of successful coaching experience at the collegiate level and has spent many summers in the development of young runners at cross country camp programs since his days at St. Catherine University.

From Henderson, “Having the opportunity to share my passion for running and experiences in the sport of cross-country as the co-director of the Green Mountain Running Camp is absolutely thrilling. GMRC is clearly one of the premiere running camps in the United State. It has such a rich history of helping students to improve not only their ability to run, but their leadership skills and knowledge of the sport. I am really looking forward to being a part of that history and helping to carry the camp's tradition of excellence into the future.”

Prior to his time at Princeton, Henderson was the head cross country and track & field coach at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minn. While at St. Kate's he recruited student-athletes in all events, designed and implemented training programs, and managed all team-related business, assisted with summer camps, fundraising and alumni development.

2014 guest speakers included Villanova’s Marcus O’Sullivan, Oregon’s Vin Lananna, Dartmouth’s Barry Harwick, Oklahoma State’s Dave Smith and Beth Alford-Sullivan from Penn State.

US Sports Camps (USSC), headquartered in San Rafael, California, is America's largest sports camp network and the licensed operator of NIKE Sports Camps. The company has offered summer camps since 1975 with the same mission that defines it today: to shape a lifelong enjoyment of athletics through high quality sports education and skill enhancement.
