2013 Nike Running 15

Nike Running Camps is  proud to announce that Chris Miltenberg  has been named the new Franklin P. Johnson Director of Track and Field and Cross Country at Stanford University. Coach Miltenberg and staff will direct the Stanford Camp of Champions and continue to offer a high quality camp experience to youth athletes on campus.

(PRWEB) February 28, 2013 – As the new director of the Stanford Track and Cross Country programs, Coach Miltenberg brings a wealth of experience to Stanford Athletics and the Nike Running Camps.  Miltenberg served as  the Georgetown associate head coach for the track and field and the head women's cross-country coach. He led the Hoyas to the 2011 NCAA title in women's cross country and was named the USTFCCCA National Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year.

Under the guidance of Miltenberg, Georgetown has finished in the top 10 of the USTFCCA Terry Crawford Program of the Year each of the last two seasons. He is a three-time Mid-Atlantic Assistant Coach of the Year for women's track and field and had six of his athletes compete at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials.  He brings great experience and passion to the Stanford Track and Cross Country Camps of Champions.

The Stanford University “Camp of Champions” Track & Field (July 6-10) is designed for athletes with the desire and special aptitude to become more competitive in an event.  Campers can choose from all disciplines: throws, sprints, hurdles, middle distance, and jumps.

The Stanford “Camp of Champions” Cross Country (July 10-14) offers runners miles of challenging and pristine trails on campus and surrounding parks. During each run, campers are placed in small compatible groups based on fitness and ability.  Each group is assigned an experienced counselor, for specialized training and individual attention. Throughout the week, training and instruction is provided in breakout sessions taught by NIKE sponsored guest athletes and coaches.

“Both the track and field and cross-country camps have a long history of providing young athletes access to experienced counselors, world class facilities, and an overall positive experience that helps them grow as both athletes and people,” says Joseph Wagstaffe, Director of Operations, “We're very excited to continue that tradition for another year and feel that this year has the potential to be one of the best. Each camper has the opportunity to learn from the best and run, jump and hurdle alongside our own tremendous student-athletes!”

At NIKE Running Camps, our goal is to stimulate a love for running and runners to become better, faster and smarter athletes.  They provide an educational and inspirational experience for camper’s ages 10-18, all skill levels and abilities.
