Aztecs to Send Seven Swimmers to NCAA Championships

San Rafael, CA - Seven swimmers from the 2015 Mountain West Conference champion San Diego State swimming and diving team qualified for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships beginning March 19 in Greensboro, N.C. The 2015 Mountain West Conference championship marked the third time in the past five seasons that the Aztecs have won the league title.

"Winning the Mountain West Conference championships was a special team accomplishment,” said Stephen Allnutt, Aztec Assistant Coach. “The outstanding young women that represent the Aztecs pulled together in a tight race to rise from underdogs to champions. All season we faced adversity that not only brought our team closer together, but pushed us to new team records and our best ever 7 entrants to the NCAA Championships."

With a four-day meet total of 704.5 points, SDSU placed athletes in the championship final of five of the six individual events and registered first-place finishes in two races on their way to defeating second place Boise St and third place Wyoming. San Diego St. will be represented in five individual events as well as four relays over the three day Championship held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

This summer Assistant Coach, Stephen Allnutt, is offering a complete stroke technique at San Diego State University. At the Nike Swim Camp at San Diego State University our goal is to improve your four strokes as well as starts and turns. The overnight with an extended day camp option will take place June 28-July 1, 2015.
