March 06, 2013

FEDERAL WAY, WA - The Stanford Women's Swimming and Diving Team have won the Pac-12 Conference Championship for the third time in the last four years.

The Cardinal held off second place finisher USC, which only trailed Stanford by 8 points heading into the final day of competition. This is Stanford's 19th Conference title and first under Greg Meehan, who was named the head coach of the team in the Fall.

"Our team really stepped up today when the championship was on the line," said Coach Meehan. "Our seniors were awesome both today and all week long. We are excited to continue this journey in three weeks at the NCAA Championships."

The Stanford Women will vie for the NCAA Swimming and Diving title in Indianapolis, March 21-23.
