Getting to Know: Bob Hansen, Head Men’s Tennis Coach at Middlebury College
Bob Hansen, famous men’s coach and creator of the Santa Cruz “Slugs” tennis program is a seven-time NCAA championship winner and returns for his 33rd year as director of the camp. Hansen is now the Head Men’s tennis coach at Middlebury College, after coaching the UCSC Slugs for over 30 years with many national team titles.

How long have you been coaching college tennis and Nike Tennis Camps?
I have been directing camp for 33 years.
Favorite Camp Drill?
My favorite drill is all the drills we do at camp since they all contribute to key concepts and are all fun when done properly.
Why did you start coaching tennis?
I got into coaching because I loved sports more than anything else for as long as I can remember.
Favorite evening activity at camp?
Competitive games night!
Go-To Nike Gear?
I'm a fan of all NIKE gear!
