GETTING TO KNOW.....
Jeremy Feldman - Associate Men's Tennis Coach at Wake Forest University and Director of Nike Tennis Camps

How long have you been coaching college tennis and Nike Tennis Camps?
I’ve been in college coaching for three years now and this will be my second summer as the camp director for Nike Tennis Camps at Wake Forest. I have been involved with previous camps for many years, as a player, counselor and assistant director.

Favorite Camp Drill?
2 on 2
All four players start in the service box, coach feeds the ball to start the point. Great drill for reaction skills, ability to defend, and to adjust to a variety of situations

Why did you start coaching tennis?
I got into coaching tennis for a variety of reasons. One, I truly enjoyed my experience as a collegiate tennis player and wanted to remain near the game that meant so much to me. I also felt that I could have an impact on up and coming players by helping them develop to their full potential.

Favorite evening activity at camp?
Mini golf. Everybody has a blast. It’s a great group activity, lots of fun competition amongst the kids and of course the coaches!

Go-To Nike Gear?
Anything with a WF on it. Hat, shorts, shirt, shoes and sock. My current favorite – gold Nike Shirt with the Demon Deacon’s face on front and black Nike shorts with the WFU logo.

If you could borrow one stroke from any pro tennis player….
Federer’s one-handed backhand. Yes, likely a very common answer but can’t argue with a guy who’s won 17 grand slams. I have a one-handed backhand myself and wish I could hit is as smooth as he does!
