New Dimond High School Coach returns as director for NBC Basketball Camps Alaska

Coach Brad Lauwers will direct NBC Alaska Camps , one of the top basketball camps in Alaska for the last thirty years.
NBC Basketball Camps announces Coach Brad Lauwers recently named Dimond High School Head basketball coach will be returning as director of NBC Alaska Basketball after a few years leave of absence. Coach Lauwers a well-know and decorated high school boys coach returns as NBC Camp director providing intensive leadership, court knowledge and an inspirational example. Coach Lauwers was a standout athlete in high school when he discovered he had cancer which resulted in the amputation of his lower leg. Through hard work, determination and a “never quit” attitude, Coach Lauwers became one of the first players with a prosthetic leg to play competitive high school football and basketball.

This summer, Coach Lauwers and his wife Kim will help uphold the NBC Alaska camp tradition which has been a bedrock for Alaskan athletics for thirty years. Over the years, Alaskans from around the state have come to compete and improve their skills and leadership.
NBC Basketball Camps with Coach Lauwers will host a Pure Shooting and Attack moves Camp at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage for athletes ages 11 to 18. Former Head Coach at Alaska-Fairbanks and now president and founder of NBC Camps, Fred Crowell will be the supervising instructor for this camp which will focus on shot correction, keys to breaking down an opponent , and the best ways to become a great scorer. This camp starts May 28 until June 1.
NBC Camps will offer two Complete Player Basketball Camps focusing on all aspects of the game. Camps will run June 3-7, 2013 for ages 11-18 and June 10-14, 2013 for ages 9-16. The 2013 focus for these camps will be on improving decision making including reading the defense, shot selection and improving basketball IQ. Coach Lauwers will be helping to hire, run and direct camps as well as provide motivation and direction to each camper.
