Nike Softball Camps is excited to be back at the University of the Incarnate Word June 16-19, after a successful camp last summer
San Rafael, CA April 16, 2014 – Due to popular demand, Nike Softball Camps will return to the University of the Incarnate Word June 16-19. Head Coach, Amanda Gamboa will be covering the softball fundamentals while bringing the energy to get every softball player fired up about improving. Like last summer, camp is open for girls of all abilities, ages 8-18, and offers overnight and extended day programs.
Director, Amanda Gamboa is entering her second season as the head coach of the University of the Incarnate Word softball program. She successfully handled the challenges of being a first-year coach in 2013 and now she faces the prospect of leading the program in its first year as a member of NCAA Division I and the Southland Conference in 2014. Gamboa's first season at the helm has to be qualified as a success. A 30-26 record and a trip to the NCAA Division II South Central Region Tournament were the final results. The highlights of the season include winning a road series at #23 Angelo State and then winning a home series against #2 West Texas A&M. She had four players earn all-conference honors.
“We are excited to be back at the University of the Incarnate Word,” states Mike de Surville, Vice President of US Sports Camps. “Amanda brings a wealth of knowledge and the enthusiasm that encourages each camper to be the best that they can be on and off the field.”
