US Sports Camps Announces 2013 Nike Running Camp Addition in Pennsylvania

San Rafael, CA—NIKE Running Camps offers both a cross country and track and field camp running concurrently at West Chester University this July.   Located just outside of Philadelphia, West Chester University provides a convenient, top-notch location for camp this summer. Overnight campers reside in the campus dormitories where staff and resident advisors supervise campers overnight.  Campers train on the track at the John A. Farrell Stadium.  Camp runs from July 7th through the 10th.

“WCU is excited to be hosting our first Nike Cross Country/Track & Field camps this summer!  We have been hosting XC/Track & Field camps at WCU for the past eight years, but this partnership with Nike allows us to provide an even more high-level experience for student-athletes,”  says Head Track & Field and Cross Country Coach, Andy Huber.  “We have just added Jason Kilgore, one of the area’s most knowledgeable sprints/jumps/hurdles coaches to our camp staff, and we are looking forward to a great summer!”

The Nike West Chester Track & Field Camp offers an in-depth technical education into specific track & field events. Campers will utilize one-on-one training, video analysis, and competition to best educate the athletes in their given events.  Athletes will be offered ample opportunities for repetitions in their given events while having the technical help of collegiate coaches.

The goal of the Nike Cross Country Camp at West Chester University is to teach athletes the fundamentals of success in the sport of cross country. This camp will offer expert coaching and instruction by college coaches and student-athletes, as well as the opportunity to experience a variety of training concepts.

Classroom lectures on current running issues will include exercise physiology, aqua running, plyometrics, strength training, injury prevention, establishing goals, visualizing success, racing tactics, training shoe and racing spike selection, training technique and nutrition. The goal of the NIKE Running Camps is to stimulate a love for running and aid runners to become better, faster and smarter athletes.  They provide an educational and inspirational experience for camper’s ages 12-18, all skill levels and abilities.
